Bright, but NOT water resistant AT ALL.
Firstly, this head torch is bright. Very bright. The circle of light at its widest zoom setting is extremely bright and reasonably 'flat'. Some rings and circles and shadows are present but only minimal, and not too distracting. It's good quality of light. It's a very white light and shows colours up well. However, it has some quite serious problems. The worst one is that although it is described as having a water resistance rating of IPX5, which means 'can withstand low pressure jets of water from any direction', it in fact has no water resistance whatsoever. Well, the front part - the lamp unit - looks like it is probably waterproof, but the rear part, the battery compartment, which also houses the main electronic circuit board, is open to the elements. It is formed in two halves that hinge open to give access to the three batteries, but those two halves have no gasket between them, no overlap, but simply butt together loosely, with a definite visible gap, so any rain would run straight in unimpeded. The two USB ports - one on the underside and one on the top side - are also not sealed well: the rubber plugs are very loose and are falling out constantly. Any water running into those ports will run directly onto the circuit board. That IPX5 rating is a pure fiction, and I shall be reporting the listing as inaccurate and misleading.Secondly, the head band is far too tight. it's too short. On its shortest possible setting it grips my head like a vice. This is not a torch for wearing for long periods. Of course one can replace an elastic strap, but why? Why make the strap so short in the first place?Thirdly, when the batteries run flat the torch goes from 100% full brightness to 0% full darkness instantly, with no warning at all. There is no battery level indicator, ...not that you'd see it anyway if it's on your head. This does make it less useful. Yes, you could carry spare batteries, but you'd have to be able to find them in the dark. It means you have to be sure the torch is fully charged whenever you use it, and be careful not to let it run down too much. In practice, a torch with a shorter battery life, but which faded or dimmed as the battery got close to being exhausted, would be more useful.

Brilliant 100% recommend
WOW for the price the head torch is 100% amazing i like to explore underground and on its first outing my exploring partner was sp impressed hes just ordered oneI was underground in total darkness for 8+ hours and only changed the batteries after 6 hours while i was sitting having a drink to save them going flat while i needed it (they still had lots of life just did it for my own piece of mind )I had it set at its lowest setting all day and it was the brightest of 5 lamps so more than enoughIts very comfy even after hours of use and perfectly balanced so you don't have to have the straps overly tightI cannot recommend this lamp more its just brilliant

Fake batteries!!!!
The media could not be loaded. Bought this for sea fishing very bright but will only last two hours on max or if lucky four on the lower setting as you can see from the video these batteries are not 4000 but 1500 FAKE!!. I would say that’s what the battery tock after being dead I bought LG mj1 which are rated at 3500 and are true but at a cost of £5 each and these will last 8/9 hrs on the lower setting but should you really have to buy batteries!! You won’t or can’t buy 4000 anyways these are fake batteries google batteries stay away from fake on here but always a good idea to keep the 3 for spares to get back to the car 😂 bought the charger to make sure before I posted !

It’s not waterproof
The media could not be loaded. Hugely bright, love the zoom feature. The torch end seems well made but the whole thing is useless to me because it’s not waterproof; The little rubber plug that fits into the charge port is too small for the hole, it just falls out. I don’t mean that it’s loose, I mean it literally doesn't even stay in for a second. Means I can’t use this outside in the rain, which is 50% of the time.

SOME THINGS GOOD & SOME THINGS NOT GOOD
It is a cheap light in a market where lights can be very expensive. If you are prepared to accept the poor points it is probably quite good value.Write up states 12000 lumens. Take that with a large pinch of salt mine. However, the light does provide a BRIGHT & EVENLY LIT WIDE area up to about 15 metres ahead. The battery box is low quallity. Not durable and not waterproof. (if you can use a soldering iron extend the cable and put the battery box in a pocket).A red led illuminates during battery charging, but there is no indication to show when charging is complete.Battery life not tested yet which is why I gave 3 stars.

Great dog walking torch for the country...
Great torch. 3 settings. Just been for first dog walk across heath and through woods. Very bright on main beam, had on dipped beam focussed a long way ahead for the 90 mins, more than enough.Torch reviews tend to be its 100,000 lumens, or brightest ever, best ever... yawn yawn. Very simply, this torch is brilliant. Hands free dog walk and easy to turn brightness up or down and lengthen or widen beam. You could use it in town as an anti mugging device on high beam as you could fry any attackers retinas! I think it lends itself more to dog walks in the great outdoors. (Would probably be good for a whole host of other uses too)(Had a week now, burns batteries even at lowest setting... that said still love it!)

Bright and comfortable but cheap and faulty
Bought for working nightshift. On opening found nice and light making it comfortable although the build looked cheap and bulky. The light was bright enough, nice and consistent BUT on turning off found one of the cree LED's was still lit and flickering somehwat. Found the only way to stop this was to remove all batteries, even with 1 battery it stayed on. This would drain the batteries when not in use reducing the battery life and made this completely inconvenient for me.Have had far better and have arranged return within 10 minutes of delivery.
