I had a the older one with the cd. I bought this because it has many more exercises. The online audio and video option is a must for any new learner. You can download the audio and upload it to your music library on the phone or tablet (i put it on the iphone/ipad). I am very happy.No need for a teacher - have patience and practice this book. No other book or method required. The important word is Patience.

I really wanted this book for my students. I learned a lot from this book when I was a learner. My teacher used to give me lessons from this book and I wrote the lessons in my copy. But now I can use this book as my teacher. Come to the book itself, it has such nice contents in it and the binding is fine to me! Have such pleasing lessons and contents to learn or teach!

Ordered book but got spiral photocopy. Its not an original copy and quality is also poor. Don't buy it.

Hubby recently decided he wanted to take up the guitar, I encouraged it and purchased him a guitar and then bought this book. He thinks it's one of the best books that he has seen as he has looked at a few of them in a local music store. This book came highly recommended, and it does not disappoint. Easy to follow easy to apply. Satisfaction for sure..

Excellent book 1. Very recommendable. I have books 2 to 4 I got years ago. I did have book 1 but somehow It was missing. enc my purchase of this. These books are the first books I started my musical journey with. I recommend these books and this book 1 especially if you are starting out on learning, and to keep for reference and practice.Delivery,Packing. Quality all 100%. I have been a guitar instructor for years and have struggled finding the perfect instructional book. I wanted to find the balanced mix of instructional and practice content and this book accomplishes just that. I learned how to play with the Mel Bay Method and I knew that I wanted my students to have the same solid foundational understanding of not just learning the notes, but some basic music theory. I really feel like this book allows me to deliver both in a clear and understanding manner. This is the ONLY book I have found that accomplishes all of the necessary skills for my guitar students.
