A Classic Trophy Series Kit Returns
This kit is a reissue of the Tall T Coupe, the 1964 iteration of the famous Double T kit of 1960, which originally featured a chopped coupe body, along with the roadster body. With the two pickup beds (one is shortened) and a turtle deck, you have a choice of many body configurations. You also get a stock 1925 Model T running gear and fenders, plus a then state of the art T bucket running gear. This consists of a stepped Model A frame, with a chromed Ford V8 60 tubular axle up front, and Halibrand quick change out back. The motor is a not quite prototypically correct Lincoln that has the block and heads of the big block 430, with the Continental valve covers and rear distributor of the smaller 317 engine breathing through a choice of three different induction systems. a Latham Blower with 4 side draft carbs, a six carb setup on a log style manifold or a tri-power set up. Rolling stock is a vintage set of Gene Winfield's "Terra-Thrust" five spoke mag wheels. AMT thoughtfully provides some nice pad printed white wall tires, and some really nice cheater slicks, along with a reproduction of the original decal sheet. You also get cycle fenders and oodles of other extras. This kit's a winner! An addendum: One reviewer complained that the rear wheels on the stock version are not centered in the fenderwells. This is actually prototypically correct to the real car. This really is a great kit, especially from a 57 year old mold.

A very cheap, but not inexpensive model
My son needed a Model T as a prop for a presentaiton on the industrial revolution/assembly lines. It's been a few decades since building a plastic model, so I'm a bit rusty here, but I don't remember them being this poorly done: the parts were very poorly formed, with lots of mold overflow and didn't fit properly after trimming; the instructions were shabby. Even the steel axels were too short to hold the wheels in place (I understand the desire to save a couple cents, but if you're going to do it by cutting back the axel length to the point of being useless, you're better off leaving the parts out).

Not impressed with this kit
I have to agree with the others that found this kit to be a total disappointment. Getting past the step of the Stock Coupe is turning into a real challenge. Nothing seems to fit where it should and the instructions are terrible. Maybe the other version will turn out better but I wanted the Stock Coupe.

A great old kit is reissued!
OK, after years of waiting for a rerelease of this fine kit, it has finally happened along with AMT's other model T kit.I see that 3 people have given this kit a 1 star rating. I am sorry they had such a bad model building experience. In today's computer games and surfing era, few young children are introduced to the fine hobby of model kit building and to see that 3 have had such a bad experience, it saddens my heart.I have been building model kits, mainly aircraft, since 1958. I have a different view of this wonderful kit.1) I love the Ford Model T body styles, and the chance to obtain a "phone booth" version of the T is a great thing! For youngsters, a phone booth is a small vertical booth with a phone inside for making public calls. You don't see them anymore, but in 1925 "Maw Bell" was putting phone booths around the USA and therefore when this body style appeared, it was dubbed the "phone booth" by a later generation of young men, mainly, who were wanting to obtain transportation other than the mule or hoarse and they would buy old "jalopies" to fix up and have a means of getting more out of life. It was a much simpler life style in the early 1930s.OK the kit is old and the molds are probably close to 50 years old. So the kit has a few areas where the fit might need to be check before adding glue, and sanded to make for a better fit.A nice feature is there are two complete kits in this one box

Don't buy
This is the worst model kit I've ever purchased. Attempted to build the Stock Roadster Coupe version. Got no farther than the frame, drive train and rear axle assembly, only to find that the rear wheels would mount tight against the inner front of the rear fenders (that is, not even close to being centered in the rear wheel wells). Unfortunately there was no workaround for this problem. As another also mentioned, the metal axles are too short to hold the wheels. Was only interested in the Stock Roadster assembly, so it was money wasted on this purchase. To make it clear, the kit I am referring to is the amt 1925 Model "T" Ford kit, in which the box top indicates: "Build 2 Complete Cars - 3 in 1 Stock - Street - Strip"
