Clunky and Failed
Ionisers are wonderful. They bring down dirt and grease and clean the air. They massively improve my breathing and are a lifesaver if I have a cold or congestion. But you need a lot of ions - not a trifling dribble from a lightbulb or a cute air fresner boasting an ioniser option. The trouble is that to produce a useful amount they need to be large. These devices attract dirt so successfully they can easily end up sitting in a greasy puddle. Extra cleaning and a visible sign of how dirty the air in our homes is. So early models were not successful with consumers. All I want is something like this - no matter how ugly - to chuck out electrons for years and years. This device is classic 1970s Eastern European design - almost beautiful in its atrocious appearance if you like retro. It has a built in fan which failed immediately - after a week or so. It was quirky within a day or two - powering off randomly sometimes after a few minutes and sometimes after a few hours. Finally it stopped turning on at all - after about three weeks. I tried an equivalent power adapter but it was not power supply so I guess some soldering has failed internally or an electrical component has failed. There is no excuse for this in this day and age. The item is overpriced and of poor build quality. If I had paid £5 for it I still would not have expected it to fail so quickly. I have not pursued the vendor - I do not feel able to deal with the stress and mucking about. One star flatters this item. Please - someone - invent an ioniser that belts out ionising electrons in fantastic quantities for years and years.

Quite impressed
I just used this for the first time last night, which was particularly muggy here. I like the fact that the product is not too bulky, is reasonably quiet (even with the fan on). There is a faint spraying-like sound that comes on every so often, but I only heard it when I was awake. I highly doubt it would wake the average person up while sleeping. My room 'smells' clean and feels a bit cooler. So far, so good.Would recommend this especially to fellow Asthma sufferers.

Not that good
After 30 days the fan an uv light stopped working. And it emits a strong level of ozone, not that good

Excellent ioniser.
I've been using this for nearly a year now. I find that it is an excellent product. I also have the Puremate ioniser which is. Also excellent. I don't find that it emits a strong smell of ozone which I am very happy about. It definetly works as every month i clean the easily accessible cartridge and it is layered in thick carbon and soot which has been extracted from the air. It is very quiet and the fan and uv light work great. I would definetly recommend this product. If anything should change I will amend my review.
