Pricey, but worth it. Very tactical, exceptionally solid scope mount
This scope mount installs easily and is very rigid like only a one piece mount can be. It has a high riser making it most suitable for AR-style rifles. Indeed it attaches to picatinny rail systems, not standard scope mounts. It's a quality Burris product.Included are standard smooth scope ring tops as well as the pictured ring tops with picatinny rails built in. I mount a red dot sight on top of my scope which gives me the ability to quickly acquire sight picture at close range, or use the scope for more accurate albeit slower shooting at farther ranges. The entire mount uses two full length guide bolts to attach to the rifle. Each of the rings has 6 (3 on each side) hex bolts for a secure mount. I suggest tightening them incrementally for the best fit. The appropriate size allen wrench is included. While this mount will set you back close to $90, it's unique design and tactical ability make it worth the price. You could pay far more for Leupold or similar mounts, and this Burris product is just as good if not better.

Quality is there
Not sure why there is so much hate out there - other than it being a little bit heavier and ugly when compared to more expensive options, the mount works perfectly fine and is extremely stable.I bought 2.

at first I wasn't sure
I bought this Scope mount over some of the cheaper ones because I was told that if you want a quality product that this was the way to go so I opted for a more expensive scope mount. It is very sturdy and constructed well and so far has been worth every bit of the money I spent on it.I own a Core 15 GTO AR-16 that came standard with the front sight post I wanted to retain my sights as well as being able to have some type of optic on my rifle how ever the front sight post blocks all optics that are mounted to the rail on the receiver I did not want to spend the money to have to buy quality fold down sights, then a gas block, and then pay someone to install them for me or pay for the gun smithing tools to make a one time modification that would remain permanent for the foreseeable future. After doing some research into my need and talking to a friend of mine who owns this mount and uses it on with his AR I decided to bite the bullet and give it a shot, I has some concerns because if you look at how the scope mount lines up on the rifle the scope would be pointing face first into the front sight post, I was assured that this would not be a problem and that the scope would see through the sight post and it would not interfere with the scope picture. This is 100% correct I have no problem with this scope mount and as far as I'm concerned this is the best product on the market, it is more expensive than its counter parts but I can assure you that the product is well worth the money that you spend

Decent mount, but pic rail top rings are useless.
For the price, the mount seems fine. Provided you have the right scope tube diameter and follow the recommended torque values, it seems to mount on the rifle like it should. This is my first venture into variable power optics on modern sporting rifles, and understanding that this is a budget product before I bought it level-set my expectations with the build quality. I cannot attest to the zero-holding properties of it as I've only taken it out once, but should it not hold correctly I will adjust this review. My biggest compliant with this is the 1913 pic rail ring tops - they are essentially useless. Mounting them to the bottom rings isn't the problem, the problem lies with the fact you only get 2 slots of usable rail space. 3 different T1-style mounting bases I had would not correctly align on any of the 4 possible mounting locations due to there not being enough rail to grab for the T1 mount. So, what happens is the mount+dot becomes canted about 15 degrees to the left or right, making any sort of dot zeroing 100% useless, except for the initial zero distance. If you moved forward or backward, your horizontal POI is going to shift since the dot emitter is angled horizontally on your weapon.Unless I'm missing something, and/or there is a compatible micro dot/mounting base that Burris makes that aligns plumb with the pic rails they provide, I think they shouldn't be included with this product. I would like to see a dedicated T1/RMR/Docter/whatever footprint ring like some of the much higher priced competition offers, but at this price point I don't think that's a possibility.

Gold standard flat top AR-15 scope mount.
The perfect scope mount for a flat top AR-15. Installed it on an M&P 15 II and couldn't be happier. This is my gold standard scope mount for an AR now. It came with the picatinny ring tops and a set of smooth ring tops. Can't beat it. This set has high quality fit and finish. Using a one piece base with integral rings removes most of guesswork when installing a scope properly, especially on an AR-based platform. Just for grins I put my Wheeler alignment jigs in to check for colinearity. They were a little loose, maybe a couple of thousandths diametrically, but lined up flawlessly at the points. No lapping required which wasn't a big surprise with a base that has integral rings. And no one beats the Burris forever warranty. Pair this up with a quality scope and you'll have no regrets.
