Zoo MedLaboratories SZMHC20 Hermit Crab Scooper

My daughter recently adopted a Leopard Gecko from her former science teacher who is retiring soon. The gecko lives in a tank with some kind of special sand/substrate covering the floor. We needed something to scoop his poop. I looked at scoops at the pet store designed for this, but they were much more expensive. This one is perfect! We didn't need anything very big and in retrospect, the one at the pet store may have too large of holes anyway, so we are very happy that we got this one geared toward small hermit crabs. We received the red one. It reminds me of the quality of a child's beach toy. The holes are perfect and allow only the sand to fall through.

Fun color makes your child want to use it. Sturdy and durable. Doesn't bend with weight of product scooped up.

This scooper is awesome. It makes cleaning the hermit crab tank a lot easier. Granted, it's not perfect, any poop picker upper is not perfect whether you're talking about a dog scooper or a manure fork that you use to clean horse's stalls. Sometimes you'll miss a few items but you'll get it eventually if you just try again. I think that the scooper is a great tool and is perfectly made for hermit crab droppings. I recommend it for an easy way to clean up your crabitat!

its pretty good but its kinda hard to use cause the sand doesnt fall through the holes easily

There is no way to pick which color you want from this particular listing but, color doesn't really matter in a poop scoop does it? We received the red one. It's okay for sifting sand but we do see that some of the poop just falls right through. the holes could be a little smaller. It does however pick up bits of food that our crabs have buried and clumped sand. I'm not convinced that this tool is a must have item in the world of hermit crabs but it does okay.

Use for cleaning hermit crab habitat. purchased another scooper, but holes were to large. This scooper is perfect. Easy for the kids to use.

Works as intended. Things larger than the holes stay in the shovel.

ist zwar vorne nicht ganz passgenau, aber ideal für Chinchillasan-Sieben. Benutze es für das Sandbad meiner Rennmäuse. Würde ich wieder kaufen, ist ungefähr so groß wie ein größerer Esslöffel.
