HQCBarn Paint 5L | Garden and Furniture Wood Paint | Outdoor Protection for Garden Fence | Quick-Drying Classic Grey

I have used this paint previously about ten years ago and I can honestly say it would properly have been ok to have left it another year or so. I had noticed in one or two areas it needed a.touch up. This was not the fault of the paint it was due to wood contraction and expansion and it didn't make the paint flake or crack it was the wood that had cracked and the paint held firm as promised. So that's why I needed to touch it up ,i decided to do the whole building only because I was worried that the fresh paint might have stood out. Firstly packaging and delivery. The delivery was on time and I was kept informed by tracking of the paints journey from supplier to my house. The packaging was kept to a minimum so only a box the size of the can to get rid of. The can top was well sealed with a very strong tape ensuring the lid would not become loose in transit. Once your ready to paint make sure you give it a really good stir and your ready to go. Initially you might thing on no it's blue or deep purple. I did that the first time as you paint it on it doesn't look black. However in seconds it turns a really deep dark black .Its a lovely thick creamy constituency and it's easy to spread once applied. It really does go a long way. Cleaning brushes and any drops you might splash is easy just use.water and it comes right off . The surface I was painting on was feather board cladding quite a rough Finnish but it goes on easily. I keep saying I with regard to the painting when in fact it was my wife who did it all . That aside when finished it looked a million dollars. This paint job because of the vulnerability of this incredible paint will properly last longer than us. The other amazing thing about this paint is it versatility. I don't know if you have ever tried painting plastic but it's impossible normally as if you then go to use the painted object the paint would crack and flake . This stuff on the other hand will stick to plastic and give it a fresh lease of life. I had one of those plastic boxes that you can get for storing garden pillows tools etc. It was looking extremely tired and my wife was nagging to get it replaced. We gave it a lick of barn paint and it looks like new. Not only does it adhere to plastic and wood I have metal post holders holding up the studio porch canopy and like the plastic the paint performs the same . It goes a.long way to I did the studio the plastic box and I still have about three inches left in the can. I'm sure I will find lots of uses for what I have left. I didn't need two coats as suggested on the tin as the building was already black. When I did it originally I did do two coats.but the first coat was watered down so again only one tin was needed and it has lasted ten plus years. It dries very quickly in the sun which makes life easier if our having to use two coats. A very long lasting durable paint that doesn't flake peel or loose it's depth of colour by fading. A paint that goes a long way even when painting on rough surfaces . A very versatile paint that can be used on many surfaces it's up to your imagination . I know what will be holding you back as it did me at first the cost . Compared to other garden paints the cupranols and creosote Types it looks expensive. But just remember this will only need doing about every ten or so years it doesn't look like pants and need redoing every year or couple of years like the others. So as far as value for money and saving you work this is a God send . Buy it try it it's amazing.

Bought this to paint a fence in the garden, so sick of buying fence treatments and having to do it every year. Paint arrived quickly and well packaged, I was a little apprehensive when opening in case it turned out fluorescent green but it was a really nice shade. The paint is excellent quality, really thick and covers well. Would recommend

Excellent paint with good coverage and easy to apply.I bought 5L in March 2020 for £39.19 and less than a month later it is now £64.95.Shame really, but charging an extra £25.76 for the same thing will not encourage me to buy it again.

Havent used much yet as it has been too wet but what we have usedis good.
