Will this kit work to transfer pictures from a dead dell dimension 4700 to new dell desktop?

If the Dell drive is an IDE, SATA or parallel interface drive, it should work

It does not work for 2.5 sata, the power supply is for the 12v 3.5 sata and the 2.5 is a laptop hard drive which is 5v. You can't use this.

Sorry. I downloaded from a hard drive from an HP with Windows 7 to Dell computer with Windows 10 and had no problem. Transferred all files to my desktop with no problem.

I have yet to have 4 different products similar (hard drive and DVD drive) to this type of devices fail to automatically install on Win10 and just start working and the attached Hard Drive will show up in File Explorer. so no need for an additional driver -- if it's recognized, then your drive is already installed. The only exception I can think of is if your drive hasn't been formatted yet. So you have to go to the Disk Manager where it will show up so you can format it. Then go on from there.
