Energy by Fire Tiger

Fire Tiger stuns and shows high promise with electric debut....
Fire Tiger is a light illuminating from the darkness that is today's bleak music scene. Don't get me wrong...I listen to and enjoy a lot of modern acts (Lady Gaga, Adele, Danny Brown, and Regina Spektor to name a few), so there are diamonds in the rough. However, the band that created the gem, "Energy", hold a special element. Based in L.A., they're slowly gaining international attention, and rightfully so, for if you still revel in the Golden Age of music (70s to the early 90s in my arguable opinion), this band is a breath of fresh air!"Energy" is a genius debut from a highly promising band! A perfectly blended revival of 80s power pop and classic rock. An electric album filled with memorable melodies and dynamite lyrics and musicality.Possessing a powerful voice with a wide range and varying array of styles, Tiff Alkouri is able to jump from a seductive vibrato to an uplifting scream like it's her birth right! Offering a standout vocal performance for each song, she is also a strong lyricist! James Ramsey layers the music with synth keys and with effective piano (`Count Dracula' and `Wall of Technology'), also adding keyboard bass when it is summoned. Chris Cuomo makes sure the album rocks with electric guitar with `Just' and a great solo on `Watching You', while also grabbing you with the acoustic guitar on `He Has Changed'. Enforcing that signature 80s sound, gated drums are strategically placed within the music, especially on `Fancy War Dance' and the title track `Energy'!No supporting roles here. This art is carried by a talented cast of important contributors. With such a variety of concrete music, you don't want to sleep on "Energy", an amazing start from possibly one of the most relevant artists in recent memory.Support this important band. 5 huge stars!!!

A great debut
This is a ten-song collection that will seriously leave you wondering what year it is. Everything from the vocals to the music is pure classic ’80s Pop/Rock and I am totally obsessed after just one listen. While all the songs are fun, there are a few in particular I really like. The first being their title track, “Energy”. It’s a fast-paced song that makes you want to get up and dance. The vocals keep with the fun vibe of the song, occasionally going into a falsetto.“The Same Old Song” shows a deeper side to lead singer Tiff James’ register while having a more moody vibe than some of the others.“Count Dracula” not only has an awesome title, but a sound that’s straight out of an ’80s horror film. Finally, I really enjoyed “He Has Changed“. It’s a soft ballad that reminds me of something The Indigo Girls or Suzanne Vega would do. The vocals range from soft and contemplating to strong and assured.Overall, I really enjoy this CD and can’t wait to see where the group will go from here.

Pop/Rock Gems
I've read all the comparisons to the 80s bands, and there may be some veracity there, but to peg Fire Tiger as merely a retro band is to do them a huge disservice. What they have put together with Energy is a nearly fully formed debut Rock and Roll album that deserves far more credit than it gets in today's landscape. The songs fast (Energy) and slow (He Has Changed) are beautifully crafted Pop/Rock gems that seem to be missing in today's music (except in nostalgia acts and stations, hence the comparison I suppose). Fire Tiger rocks! and it is a shame that they aren't much better known, much more respected and much more succesful than they have been. I've been waiting on the sophomore album for a while and will be first in line to get a copy. Until then I keep finding opportunities to buy Energy for friends that are looking for the next thing. I would love to be right.

How is this band not famous????!!!
Found this band only a few days ago via a YouTube comment while listening to an 80s video. Decided to check the link out. It brought me to their video “Energy”. Loved the song within the first 30 seconds! Decided to buy the album. 9 out of the 10 songs are really good! Not a huge fan of the song “He Has Changed”, but love the other nine. If you miss the female rockers of the 80s, you’ll love Fire Tiger!

Great songs!
Love the album! I bought the CD for the cover art but was disappointed the cover did not even include the names of the band members; only the song title and length. That is the same information I would've gotten with the download. I was hoping it had the song lyrics.
