Chronologic is Caravan Palace's fourth studio album. Following on from the huge success of their last studio album with it's fusion of hedonistic house and old school jazz, could have seemed quite the task for the band. However, these accomplished musicians are also studio geeks, and the band hunkered for two years in their basement Parisian studio, relentlessly testing new formulae, looking for unanimous approval between themselves before unleashing their work on the public. They did not want to walk the same roads, opened themselves up to the moment, retaining their eagerness to have fun smashing musical barriers and infusing vintage elements in their modern work. Broadening the sonic palette, the early big band feel of previous records now shares the stage with a production firmly rooted in electronic music, and Chronologic introduces new influences ranging from bossa and soul to hip-hop. The result is a record that is joyous, high-spirited and so distinctly Caravan Palace. For the first time, the band has also invited a selection of guest singers to appear in their music, adding to the texture and widening appeal of their sound. Review: Grows on you quickly - I first heard of Caravan Palace playing a game called Beat Saber - someone had created a level based on a caravan palace and the level was rated highly so I downloaded it, not knowing a thing about the artist. A few days after that first encounter, I found myself replaying the song in my head, and picked up the album the song had come from. A lot of their songs are like that - a listen or two and you get hooked. Fast forward to today and Caravan palace has quickly become one of my favorite groups. Their early work was classified as "Electro-swing" , and this new album has some of that along with a few more poppy songs. If you like sound quality, dynamics and good recording engineering - this album is a sonic masterpiece (as were the others) Caravan Palace has always gone several levels above and beyond what is necessary to capture a track, and their production refinement feels both experimental, and highly professional at the same time. Grows on you quickly

Chronologic Caravan Palace
Slowly collecting all of this group's CD's, and so far, Chronologic is their most inventive yet fort echo-swing. They manage to fuse the sound of Cab Calloway of yesteryear and merge that with their own take on swing, making this the best road trip music. One never knows what the next track will b ring, but, no matter, you will move your body!

Great album, especially in white vinyl
Once again, this Caravan Album is quite good. The music is upbeat, and reminiscent of music from the fifties here and there. I especially like the special edition album with white vinyl. The only real problem with this is that it's kind of hard to see the divisions between different tracks. Besides that, it's quite fabulous!

Getting better and better
I don’t know how this band manages it, but they keep putting out better and better works. If you like electronic or swing style music you should give them a chance. Go listen to them on YouTube or Spotify and then come back and by this album. The vinyls are high quality and perfect for a collector

Sounds amazing.
First play on my turntable sounds fantastic. The record has a typical small amount of warping, but it doesn't affect playback so that doesn't really matter. There are a few pops, but I assume they are from static electricity as the record had a ton when I first pulled it out of the sleeve and it shocked me multiple times.

Audible Excellence
Absolutely amazing album. Would be a solid 10/10 if not for track 4, Melancolia; it really doesn't fit well with the rest of the album and not even remotely my cuppatea. Will definitely be hitting the skip button for that one. Aside from that personal opinion, this album is pure gold.

Excellent addiction to your Caravan Palace and Electro Swing collection
ever seen i heard and found out about this French band I've loved every song and had to have the cds to play while driving to work,road trips,etc. I definitely recommend trying it out to listen too.

Some of the best music you will ever hear.
I've been a hardcore fan of Caravan Palace for going on seven years since the release of their Album 'Panic.' If you love a great swing groove with the best modern twist this is the music for you.

Album (breve!) di qualità altalenante, con alcuni (pochi) pezzi allineati all’originalissimo stile ‘retro future swing’, alternati a tracce più facili e ‘commerciali’, con arrangiamenti decisamente lontani dagli album precedenti... la stessa band ha peraltro cambiato in parte formazione... sicuramente non è l’album ideale per avvicinarsi al loro sound originale; dopo 4 anni di attesa (!!) i fedelissimi non saranno certamente entusiasti di questa produzione, pensata per le grandi platee.

Different from their last, but I still enjoyed it.
This is a fantastic album. Yes, its different from their last albums, buy its a great listen. The production and mixes are awesome and come alive on a high end system...and it when run on a surround sound systems, the room if filled with sound. The only thing to watch out is that some of the sound are very dynamic and punchy...which may make you move to turn it down....especially late at night.
