Worth the money
After forgetting my plotting tools at home on day two of chart plotting my instructor let me borrow his just like this. I immediately ordered this one and it greatly helped me achieve more accurate plots for my USCG plotting exam. Don’t cheap out with the ruler and divided/compass set. Get the good pair the first time.

Great for Plotting
I purchased this as I studied for my Masters Captain License. The one I had was weak and this provided easier functionality when I was plotting. It allows a one handed operation and overall the quality is just better. The biggest component that makes this tool better than others is that larger thumb screw and how effortless it is to use.

Only brand I’ll use. Hold position well, one handed use, pin points are sharp but don’t bend easy. As good as any $100 divider.

This is the divider to buy
Having used many types of dividers over the years- these are by far and away the best! Because of the wheel mechanism they dont move once set but are very easy to adjust- perfect for super accurate chart work. If you are doing Day Skipper or Yacht Master courses- these are the ones to get

Not the same as they used to be
Previous versions of this W&P divider had more heft and felt better in hand because it had smooth curves. This edition has more hard angles and just doesn’t feel as comfortable. Although it’s all metal still, the top design feels cheaper in hand. I’ll keep this as a backup, but am going to look for an older used one instead.
