Great when it’s working.
Works great except it won’t run for more than 30-60 seconds. Also it won’t run when it’s plugged in. Tried everything but just dies shortly after starting.

Braun Silk-epil 7 Dual Epilator vs Emjoi AP-18
The first epilator I purchased was a Braun Silk-epil 7 Dual for $120.00 vs $80 for the Emojoi brand. The Braun worked great, as my first epilator I was excited to skip shaving for a couple weeks, vs having to shave every day. It had 40 built in tweezers, two different speeds and was cordless in operation. After about a year, I had to replace it, and decided on the Emojoi. I wanted to share a comparison to help other people decide which brand and model would be best for you :)Speed:Both the Braun and the Emojoi came with two speeds. Compared to the Emojoi the Braun might as well have been slow and slower. It would take me at least an hour to do both my legs with the Braun, that time is cut in half by the Emojoi. This was also probably helped by the fact the Braun has 40 tweezers vs Emojoi's 70.Performance:Using epilators for awhile now, I know epilators do not remove every single hair. I'd say maybe 5% of the hair is broken or missed when epilating and I've come to accept this. Sometimes you have to go over it again, or wait a day or two for it to grow before epilating again. With consistent use, this gets better. I'd say the Braun and the Emojoi are about the same in this regard. As an added note, occasionally I had a problem with the Braun where it would grab onto my skin with the tweezers. It was incredibly painful and would leave red marks/tiny scratches on my skin. I have never had this problem with the Emojoi (thank goodness!).Cord vs Cordless:I may be different from others, but my favorite thing about the Emojoi is that it is corded. Why? No internal battery to deal with! The Braun worked great at first but after a few months the battery would die in about 15-20 minutes - which did not work if it took an hour to do my legs. What's worse, it would take two hours to charge (it says one hour but I found it took longer). So that is over three hours dedicated to epilating and trust me, it got old fast. I hated epilating, it became such a chore I just shaved most the time. Dealing with a cord (which is conveniently very long) is way better than worrying about a dwindling battery life and a two hour charge time. One downside is the Emojoi corded unit cannot be used in the bath or shower. I rarely used my Braun in the shower. I did not find it any less painful or more effective, and it was just easier for me to epilate outside of the bath. So the lack of this feature in the Emojoi does not bother me, but might be important to others.Accessories:The Braun epilator came with a wide variety of different caps / attachments including one with a razors to shave any left over hair. All of which I never ended up using. I'm not sure if I am alone on this, but the attachments seemed pretty pointless so I considered them a waste of money. The normal cap worked just fine for my legs and armpits, though I never used the epilator on my face or bikini line.Emojoi only came with the cord and a cleaning brush, but considering I never once used the other attachments provided from Braun, Emojoi wins this catagory as well - less is sometimes more.Comfort:Emojoi claims to be 'gentle' and if you've ever epilated, you know there is nothing gentle or comfortable about ripping your hair out at the root. However, I did find the Emojoi considerably less painful than the Braun, perhaps because of the difference in speed.Smartlight:The Braun comes with a built in smartlight which was actually very helpful in spotting short or very light, thin hairs. This is a great feature that the Emojoi lacks. You'd be surprised how helpful it is! I definitely miss it.Overall, compared to the Braun, the Emojoi AP-18 wins for me. It is faster, overall less painful, and more efficient with corded operation. I hope this helps someone else make the decision!

Sucks
It breaks hair more than plucks and my battery doesn’t even last 5 minutes

Loved it. I am used to waxing so the pain part was not a problem. No need to buy a better model because one head is sufficient for almost all areas. I do my underarms too using the broad head even though this one has a sensitive cap. On hands and legs this works like a dream. But if the hair is too small, then you have to run it several times. The light provided is very helpful. I use it with shower gel to soften the hair. Haven't tried the dry thing because I am sure it will hurt. Only problem is that the charge stays for only 30 mins or so. I bought this on a 50% off offer from amazon and has never regretted it.
