it worked out the way it's supposed to work
it worked like it is suposed to work. we even put a lot of pressure on it by bending the flexible bit a lot and didn't break.

First time I can use my drill bit extension properly
I didin't know about this tool. And using my drill bit extension was a nightmare. Now I love the way it bends in very tight places with ease.

Straight him but needs velvet gloves
I used this to help drill under the170 inch long drive way. To make very long shaft of auger straight and bend it down for horizontal drilling required this device. It needs to be opened fully for the use. The picture you see is the stow away folded position. It helped me to drill but it scratched the auger shaft. The engagement point should be rounded more to allow smoother rotation of the auger without gouging the surface of the shaft. Other than that this is a very useful device.

If you get a flexible bit, get this tool!
I bought this for a project as well as a flexible bit, but I didn't end up using them. I was trying to drill through the top plate in an existing wall which already had insulation. The bit ended up getting caught in the insulation, so I didn't use that bit. That being said, the placement tool worked very well. When I first used the flexible bit without the tool, I could feel the end of the bit hitting the exterior wall. If I would have drilled it would have gone through the wall through the siding. I confirmed this by pushing an endoscope up the wall with the bit. I was also trying to use one of those bumper balls while doing this, but it was still hitting the exterior wall. I then grabbed this tool and used it to flex the bit towards the interior. It took a little force, but it worked great! I could move the bit so it was vertical and centered on the top plate! I confirmed this with the camera again. Unfortunately, like I said, the insulation made it so I couldn't use the bit. I have some other project ideas which I could use this bit, though, so it could still be useful in the future. So if you get a flexible bit, definitely get this tool!

The only way to get an installer bit to run straight
Got one to help me run an ethernet line between floors, and it did the job. The folding aspect is nice, takes up less space in my box, and it was still strong enough to do what it needed to. Pricey for what it is, but definitely recommended even so.

Flex Bit Placement Tool Not a Winner for Me
I apparently didn't have the technique needed for using this tool. I even used a tennis ball on the drill bit to keep the bit centered and away from walls and still managed to go through my kitchen wall which wasn't the plan, since I was attempting to drill straight down. I know in concept this tool is suppose to keep the flex bit straight but for me it didn't work. So probably some percent of this may be my fault but I'm always willing to invest in a tool that claims to be able to make things easier. For me this tool made no difference and I still damaged an area I hadn't planned on having to repair. I do buy Klein tools since they are generally pretty good quality but this tool wasn't particularly

Item works great
Item does its job at allowing you to be able to better control the bend in your drill rod, while attempting to drill through a horizontal firewall stud. Always a risk not being able to see where you drilling inside the wall, but not many options in this regard for secondary installers. But careful wire dectection before drilling is the best solution, measure twice, cut once.

Worked as advertised!
This is a great, indispensable companion tool for the Klein 72" long Drill.
