It should work better with newer tanks
First off, the colors of the light color in the photo is not correct. The 7K light is a Daylight, which is a white with some reds in it. The 10K lights are white with a blue tint. Overall the light has a slight blueish cast, but nowhere near what you will find with a blue and white reef light. It has a lot more natural look.Cons:I have an older 55 gallon tank with 3/8 inch glass. The top lip of the tank is almost too wide for the leg mounts. It should work better with newer tanks. Fortunately, I can mount the light in the wooden aquarium top."Extra long power cord" is 4 foot 9 inches.Pros:A great natural looking light. Just enough blue to make the fish's colors pop without turning the whole tank into actinic blue.No wall-wart transformer/ballast that takes up two plugs on the power strip. That is one less thing to fail, and I have seen LED transformers fail.A great price from PetSolutions. The only reason I gave it a 4/5 instead of a 5/5, the flimsy leg mounts. The fish look good. I will let you know how the plants like it in a couple of weeks.

I've had two Aquatop skyled light fixtures for my heavily planted 125 gallon freshwater aquarium and the plants (and the fish) have thrived. They are much lower cost to run than traditional fluorescent and have worked very well.
