Dritz Stretch Maternity Panel, Black

I'm tall and was having a hard time finding maternity pants that fit right. Thank God my mother in law knows how to sew. She used this panel on a pair of my jeans that I already owned and it worked wonders! It lasted 7 months, and I'm still able to wear those pants now if needed. One thing is that this panel is very thin. So I always needed to wear a belly band with my jeans. This panel will not hold up your pants on it's own. No biggie for me since the belly band gave me more support. But just thought I'd add that. I definitely recommend this panel if you're having problems finding maternity pants that fit right.

I was disappointed because the panel is just a rectangle. I made my own using a sports knit. I cut it like an inverted horse shoe so it's more belly shaped and not a straight line across the belly.

I shopped everywhere for these panels to take some old jeans my daughter has to make them comfortable maternity pants. All the fabric stores have quit selling them. I don't understand why. These are perfect and she now has four pairs of pants that should have cost well over $100. Instead it cost less than $30.

Worked well. It is hard to determine where to sew it in if you are also constructing the pants. The instructions only cover putting it in a purchased pants.

I thought this would be pretty easy to use this patch replace waistbands and turn old pants into maternity gear. But the material was kind of thin and is just a curved patch for the front part of the pants.I ultimately ended up using some of the bella bands or tummy sleeeves (sold by motherhood, baby be mine, etc.) instead and found that easier to use for self-made maternity pants that don't fall down.

Use this item as it is or as a sample to make panels in other colors from swimsuit/dancewear fqbric purchased at a frabric store to convert "regular" clothes, such as jean, slax, capris, skirts and shorts into confortable maternity wear and save $$$!

Worked real well in the piece of clothing it was purchased for and the girl like it and said it was comfortable.

This item is exactly as pictured, but it does not work for altering existing pants to be maternity pants. The fabric itself has no stretch. The only stretchy part is the elastic band at the top. Modern maternity pants have a stretchy panel of fabric that goes all the way around - not just on the front part of the garment. I tried to return this but they didn't want it back - they did provide a refund, though, so I'm happy about that.

The panel was very thin and soft, not much stretch. I was thinking it would be a complete circle not just a panel.
