I used on 1/2" steel pipe left outdoor. Along with steel pipe clamp. Rust removed cleanly, in preparation for rustoleum coating. Did same for steel bicycle frame with rust on frame and wheel mounts. But steel wheel chrome rim removed some rust but not on spoke holes. Will need another application using wire brush but better if spokes are removed and both inside and outside of hole can be accessed.
