Atlantis RailEasy C0989-00HD Heavy Duty Cable Cutter

If you're deck or trellis project includes an Atlantis Rail system (RailEasy), spend the money and get these cutters. If you only use them for one project, the cost will be worth it because they take all the pain out of cutting a cable run to length and fitting the cable end into the tensioner. This tool cuts the cable without mashing the strands flat. This means the stranded cable end remains round after cutting and fits easily into the tensioning device without having to be reshaped back into round. Regular nippers and wire cutters either can't cut the stranded cable or by the time they do, mash it so badly it's difficult to impossible to fit the cable end into the tensioner.

Worked perfectly for cutting stainless steel cable that I installed around our deck. The jaws are shaped so that the cable is held together and cut rather than flattening it out.

If you're planning on cutting 1/8"-3/16" Stainless Steel cable these are a must! Please don't wast your time and money thinking you can grind it or cut with a heavy duty side cutters or Dikes! This is the tool for the job without question. Great price and made to last for a long long time. I'd venture to say that I've made literally 2000 cuts with mine and have seen no sign of slowing down, great product!

Poor quality. It worked ok for the first 10 or so cuts, but became noticeably less effective after that. At the 20th cut, I could no longer use my hands alone to make the cuts. I actually had to position it between my knees to squeeze the cutter with my legs. When it finally cut the cable, my knuckles would smash together. I dreaded every cut. I'm tossing them out and getting something else to do the second deck.

Cutters made a nice clean cut of the cable.

Tool came early. Great for building sailboat rigging. Very well built.

Didn't cut cable as easily as other brands of C7 cable cutters.

I bought these for the guys that installed my cable for a wrap around deck. Held up for the whole project. Easy to use and very durable.
