Handy Camel Bag Clip

I have been using the little bag clips for my 30 lb Taste of the Wild dog food, that you buy for chips. Wasn't working at all. I just got this clip and it is exactly as described. I have a weak grip, so I was concerned I wouldn't be able to close it all the way. No problem for me. I have had to throw away a third full bag of dog food, as it would get stale and my Bella wouldn't eat it. I believe this will allow the whole bag of dog food to be used up. This will be saving me money on dog food.UPDATE:I’ve been using this clip for 8 months now. It still works great. I open/close twice a day, when feeding Bella. She now eats all of the 30 lb bag of dog food, right down to the last nugget. As mentioned before I have a weak grip, but have had no problem using this clip. Thanks for the great product.

The media could not be loaded.  I love this clip. I started buying bigger bags of food for my dog. Instead of getting another Vittles Vault, I decided to try this in tandem with my smaller Vittles Vault.It is heavy duty, and creates a tight seal. When closing the clip, you have to click it past multiple notches, and it takes a fair amount of strength to fully close. I have to use both hands to close it. This is definitely not a product for weak or arthritic hands. (see video)With the handle I can easily lift 30 lbs of dog food with one hand, and I am not a very strong person. Once the clip is on the bag, it does not budge. I do have to fold down the corner of the dog food for it to fully cover the opening. So it would be nice if it the clip was a big longer. But that's a minor problem.I use the clip to store excess food in the bag, and pour food into a small Vittles Vault bi-weekly. The handle makes it SO much easier to pour. I don't feel like I'm going to spill a ton of dog food all over the floor. It really is fantastic.This clip appears to keep the bag fully sealed and the food fresh. I haven't had any complaints from my dog. 😉I'm definitely going to buy more of these clips for other bags that we buy in bulk. We’ve been using Camel Clips for many years. We have a golden retriever and a black lab and we purchase large bags of dog food and use the clips to secure those bags. They help keep the food or whatever else you might have in the bags fresh and they clamp so tight that even a raccoon trying to drag a 50 pound bag through a vent in the garage can’t destroy the clip-TRUE STORY!

We've had this product now for 2-1/2 years. It helps to keep large bags of dry dog food fresh. There are two minor (not show stopper) issues to be aware of. First, some may find it difficult to lock the clamp. I have no issue, but my wife sometimes stuggles to lock the clamp. Second, the clamp does bow out (warp) over time. So, the quality of the seal degrades over time. We're still using the original part, but it appears to have a limited life span. For the price, it would be good to see less warping.

Our dog kept getting into the bag of dog food and, in the process, scattering it around the kitchen. This clip solved the problem wonderfully. In addition to closing the bag, it also makes the 37 pound of bag much easier to move. I've been using it for about a month and it seems very sturdy and is easy to use.

I bought one of these years ago for those giant, heavy bags of dog food, and we still use it to this day. The plastic has become slightly warped because the bags are really thick, but it still performs flawlessly, so much so that I ordered a second a couple months ago for 40lb bags of birdseed.They’re a little on the expensive side for what they are, but they’re sturdy enough to last and they work really well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these, or even to buy a third if I one day have the need.

I have to rate this lower than anticipated because it states it is great to use for pet food bags, and the unit is shorter than the length of the large pet food bags, making it extremely difficult to close because of where the clasp is located on the clip. It takes a lot of strength to try to get the bag to mush into the smaller length of the clip. If there was a clip made with longer length to cater toward the large pet food bags, I would be excited to rate this clip a 5 star

I'm going to buy more of these, in different sizes. As an avid wholesale store fan - we have both Sam's Club AND Costco memberships - there are a lot of large bags around the house that get opened and never seal up right. In addition, I have nerve and tendon problems with my left (dominant) hand. This clip both perserves items longer in the house, and even helps carry in those big bags from Costco for me when my significant other isn't shopping with me. I have it on potting soil right now, and it is keeping the soil very moist and ready for next use many months later in warmer weather.
