Does the job!
Needed something to be able to access data on SSDs I had that won't fit inside my PC, this works a treat, just plug and play. It doesn't work with HDDs unless you plug power into it, but for SSDs it's perfect.

Saved My Photos – Fantastic Adapter!
I had an old laptop that I couldn’t access due to a forgotten password, and I thought all my photos were lost. This SATA to USB 3.0 adapter was a lifesaver! It was super easy to use—just connect the hard drive and plug it into my new laptop. I was able to retrieve all my files without any issues, but I did need some software to help access the data due to the password issue. Once I had that in place, everything transferred smoothly. The transfer speeds were solid, and I had no problems accessing my files. Definitely a must-have for anyone needing to recover files from old hard drives. Highly recommend!

Experience will vary.
I've heard that some people have had their laptops destroyed by SATA USB cables like this one, and I think I can see why. When plugging it in, I managed to see my data, however, it seems as if my laptop didnt have the ability to provide enough power to the SSD. So, I decided to stop using it, maybe keep it and not get a refund for it incase I might need it in the future or something. When I plugged it into my laptop, my mouse started flickering on and off. Perhaps if I had removed everything and only plugged in the drive, then it would work? Try looking for an external power source solution somehow, if you can.
