What struck me most about using the pen was how solid the resulting structures are. With a single layer of plastic you can make 3D shapes which can stand comfortably on their own. It took me a while to find the speed settings I felt most comfortable using, once I did I was building 3d shapes with ease.My biggest complaint by far is the length of the plug cable they provide. I had to move my adapter to the table I was working on to comfortably use the pen. Even on the floor directly below my table I was unable to hold the pen upright to use. If a new model came out I hope they address this issue.I would strongly recommend getting a silicon mat for drawing on. Not only do these come with handy grids to create basic shapes, they are also safer than other surfaces. You may also want to get more filament, as you will run out of colours quickly. Luckily the filaments are quite cheap.For this review I wanted to get a sense of what the pen was like for: Art Personal Projects Use with KidsThe process of making 3d shapes seems to fit more into an engineering rather than artistic category. However, it is definitely possible to create visually appealing structures with a bit of time. To show this I made a little house and tree stump. I have a feeling my house will soon be filled with random plastic objects very soon.Another use i found quite nice was to redraw my sons old hand-prints and make a 3d sculpture of it. You could also make a stand for the sculpture and have a nice 3D representation of your child's hand growth.Using a glass for a base structure I was able to create a container to store various art supplies in. I wsa impressed again with the sturdiness of the final result. What I like most about this is the idea of adding bespoke holders and attaching them to create a personalised art holder for my daily supplies. I have just scratched the surface of what useful items this thing can create and am excited to create more useful things.This is definitely not a toy I would let my kids use unsupervised. My eldest son is 8 and I still feel it is a little to dangerous to leave him with. He enjoyed using the pen and was really happy when he created some basic shapes with it. As an educational toy, or a hobby to enjoy with your kids, I feel this pen could be invaluable.I have been using the pen for 3 days now and I can't wait to make more things. I don’t like giving a negative review on a product, and it’s probably my fault as I had hoped it would be something my 9 year old granddaughter would be able to use. The quality of the pen is not in question, just the complexity of using it so therefore I feel it’s more of an adult pastime than a child’s.

I thought I will give a review not straight away after I received an item, but actually after I will use to give my thoughts to someone who is considering buying this pen. I work with 3D design in general so I always try different pens. So I have used this pen exactly 2 times. Overall it works well in term of drawing you have your speed, and it doesn't 'bleed' too much. That being said it is rubbish, cause you can not go more than half an hour with it. After all, it overheats and the tip of the pen starts melting. So After second of use bare in mind, I would only be drawing half an hour and give it a rest, which is super annoying cause you stop working, the tip of the pen literally melted and all of the filament started coming out from the pen, not through the nozzle but actually from the sides of the pen, until the tip just came off like it melted off. So literally not worth it unless you gonna use your pen 15min a day than go and get it, but if you want to do at least an hour of work, your pen is gonna melt. I still have filament left form what I got with the pen, so you can do the math how much I have used it until it broked.

Got it as a birthday present for my little brother (who just turned 11). Only received its 2/3 days ago and he it was his second day using the pen and this happened! The pen nozzle got blocked and the plastic dripped from the sides! He was so excited and now all that excitement has gone down the drain never mind the £33 that I spent. Can something be done ☹️

I think the problem with this product is, you need to be good to use it, and that goes for ANY 3D pen. As pens go, it's good, be prepared to have to take it to bits though to clear blockages which you WILL get. I'm an engineer and bought this for my daughter, so I'm capable of maintaining it, which isn't simple. Probably a thing you'd need training in using. So don't expect great results straight away.

Perfect toy, regardless of age (+8).Being able to create objects is a satisfaction, much more than any simply drawing could ever give.

Brilliant fun. Just be careful as it gets hot. It is a similar principle to a glue gun. The pen heats up the plastic strips as you thread them through. You can build things but you need to be patient and have a delicate touch. The plastic cools instantly and stays in the shape you put it in so you do have to be precise. It does take a bit of practise but it is fun.

Brought this 3D Pen to go alongside my Creality Ender 3 v2 3D Printer. Was ordered on 03/11/20 Tuesday at 6:00 am and it arrived on the very same day 03/11/30 Tuesday by 7:30 pm. Excellent service Amazon. This 3D Pen is of excellent quality, very lightweight and not bulky like some other 3D Pens so nice to hold and work with, it also comes with a handy stand to place it in when not in use or waiting for it to heat up, it also comes with 12 different colours of filament to get started. I see somewhere online that this 3D Pen has been reviewed/ranked 2nd out of about 10 other 3D Pens currently on the market so it's definitely a good one and for the price. If you're looking for a 3D Pen then I totally recommend this one. If I ever buy another 3D Pen or need to replace it then it will be with another one of theses 100% without hesitation.Thanks, Amazon for excellent products and a super fast service.
