Lukas lk-7950 - Great dash cam
Great dash cam. I wanted a dual cam ( actual 4 cam, but couldn't find one) and this seemed to be a good fit. I thought it had a display, but when I got it I was a little disappointed. After mounting behind rear view mirror, I would not have been able to use the display anyway.Th manual is a little hard to understand, but after playing with it, the cam is not to hard to use. I hard wired to my interior fuse box using mini-fuse taps to ignition and always on battery fuses. Wires ran fine along headliner during cable routing. I have a GMC Terrain. The power cable had about 6 inches of slack after routing. Bigger vehicles may have issues depending on were fuse box is. The rear camera had about 18 inches of slack left.It was finicky at first with WiFi, but this had to do with setting up a new pass code, and my phone reconnecting to my home wifi when I tried to connect to the dash cam. The Live view is delayed by about 2 seconds, so it's useful for aiming the camera. I use with my iphone 6s. The lukas app is simple and easy to use. I have not used the pc app yet. It has an on/off switch for the wifi which is a great feature.Considering it does not have a display, but a green multi character readout, it does a great job. It shows time when stopped, speed from GPS when driving. You can turn off the LED's on the camera from the phone app, and configure brightness, and many other settings. You can download recordings to your phone...but with iPhones, you have to email them to yourself. From the unit itself, there are 2 buttons, a manual record button and a button to record voice. If hold the voice record button longer than 3 seconds, you can toggle the annoying voice off, hold again to turn display off, hold again to turn on voice, hold again to turn on display. I have not had any false events from driving. I played with this on my desk with a power supply and had the camera on it's side, and it would continually "chime" that an event was recorded. After setting the camera upright, the chimes stopped. I recall that the camera drew about 400ma or so during drive mode. The camera got warm, but nothing worrisome. The unit has a 3 position switch for Battery (always on/park mode), accessory (drive mode only), and off. I am keeping on battery mode for now, and drive every day so I'm not too worried about battery drain. There is a setting to have it turn off if battery voltage drops too low. Not sure how good that works on any dash cam since you can drain the battery to the point you can't start your car, but it could still read 12 volts.Parking mode seems to work well and records when movement is detected.I would probably buy again, but Lukas has an updated one with more bells and wistles , and my wife may inherit this one. :D

Good camera, but not 100% what I expected.
I'm on my second LK-7950 now. The first one arrived DOA, but the second seems to work well. There are a few issues, but by and large it's a good camera. I was able to write it into my car's fusebox and hide all of the wires in about 30 minutes.PROS:* Rear camera is really small, but has a bright blue indicator light. It doesn't block your vision, but the indicator light acts as a deterrent against tailgaters.* Front camera has both SD and Micro SD inputs (regular video is saved to the SD card with "event" videos copied into the Micro SD card for semi-permanent storage).* Wifi connectivity makes it easy to calibrate cameras via your smartphone (I used the iOS app on my iPhone 6)* Wifi can be locked with a password, can be turned off with a toggle switch, and can be completely disabled by removing the dongle (if you are worried about others taking control of your cameras)* Built-in Wifi provides approximate speed readings on video overlays even without ODB2 accessory.* Provided wiring is long enough to work in just about any sedan / compact with room to spare. Should work in most SUVs as well (my Civic had several feet of cabling to spare).CONS:* Front camera is really large. It can't fully hide behind your rear-view mirror (at least not behind the mirror on my Civic)* Installation instructions are severely lacking (No wiring instructions at all are provided. If you don't have prior knowledge on how to wire accessories into your car's fuse box, you'll need to get help.)* Fuse-tap / Add-A-Circuit is required, but not provided.* Cameras have trouble capturing license plate numbers. After a full day of driving in Boston, I was only able to read the plate numbers of parked cars while I was also parked.* Video footage occasionally cuts out (possibly due to the write speed of the included SD cards?)NOTES:* If you want to use "Park Mode", you'll need to add an accessory battery to avoid draining your car's battery. Lukas sells a battery that will run you from 100-250 USD.*In order to hard wire this device into your fuse box, you'll need to find a circuit that is powered when the car is on or in accessory mode, but not when the car is off (not all circuits turn off). You'll want to wire both the red (positive) and yellow (battery) wires into a fuse-tap / add-a-circuit (use a 5A fuse). You will then need to attach the black (ground) wire to bolt near your fuse-box that won't pinch any cables. Alternatively, the yellow (battery wire will go to your battery's output with another wire going from the battery's input to join the red (positive) at the fuse-tap / add-a-circuit.

Won't last the heat of the summer.
Had this for just under a year when the bracket cracked where you tighten the screw. i contacted the seller and sent it back who then said it was out or warranty, defective and so sold me a refurbished one. One year later, the refurbished unit cracked in the same place. I also had the LDC screen die after it got hot in the summer. If they could solve those two issues this would be a 5 star.

Almost Perfect
Works as described. Had a few issues with the language defaulting to korean after installing the latest firmware, but Lukas support was quick to respond to my concern and it's as simple as configuring the settings with the pc/mac software and then all is good. Excellent quality for the price.
