Great resource Easy simple to read used this book as an additional resource while studying for my cisco icnd2 test

Good information

As a Technical Writer, I know how hard it is to present complex information. There's a balance between too much information and not enough. Here, the balance is done well. The topics are presented in good order and explained thoroughly. Though I've only dipped into some of the denser topics as yet, I'm adding this to my reference desk, because what I've read has been helpful. This book will help me to a more complete understanding of similar topics and issue. Another valuable volume in the Cisco library. If you use their devices and networks, you're going to need this to make sense of it all.

If taking Cisco exams feels like running a marathon then John's book will help you get to the finish line! John is an excellent writer and explains things in simple easy to understand terms that will help you pass the exams! John is very passionate about writing and running so you will enjoy his book. Great book John!

The book is okay. It gives a good base, but nothing too in-depth. I was hoping for a deeper understanding, but was disappointed. One example, I would change is page 13, the author refers to BPDUs as Layer 2 packets. I would change that to Layer 2 frames. Another example, the author doesn't mention port-security. Port security is an important topic on the ICND2 exam.
