Experience Installing and Using on Stihl FS 56 RC
My installation was on a Stihl FS 56 RC straight-neck trimmer. As seen in the accompanying photos, the Tecomec head does not fit flush against the base of the differential. The Tecomec head has a much smaller diameter compared to the Stihl base. Worse, it is not deep enough to allow the head's nut to tighten the head down against the base. However, I was able to stack some washers beneath the head, which did the trick. One of the washers I used was a tough plastic one, which allowed a bit of compression when tightened. That was a disappointing bit of bother, but it was worth it, I think. The head has performed well thus far. As can be seen in one of my photos, the pre-cut plastic trimmer lines go into the sides of the Tecomec head. A button press opens a pathway across the side of the head, one on each side. With My Stihl, the pre-cut line was too short to install in its middle, so I clamped them in a staggered fashion, which I would do regardless because I only want a single end doing the business on each side. The cutting performance was good. It takes much less time to adjust the lines in the Tecomec than to take a conventional bump head apart after it sticks. In replacing the trimmer sticks that came with the Techomec, I used a much smaller line: .105 Weed Warrior Pulverizer. Much to my surprise and satisfaction, whip sticks that I cut from the .105 Weed Warrior, although significantly smaller gauge than the whip sticks supplied with the Techomec, were much tougher and lasted considerably longer. So, I'm glad I bought the Techomec. However, it is not "universal" in that it didn't by any stretch fit directly on my Stihl trimmer. I am glad that it only took stacking some washers to make it work or I would have returned the unit and not be enjoying the convenience of manually replacing trimmer line instead of fighting with a bump feeder.

5 Star performance, 4 star review
I have a Ryobi RT40002 40-volt string trimmer. I ordered the Tecomec Universal Mount Fixed-Line Trimmer Head. The Ryobi is the best and most powerful trimmer I have ever used, with one exception. I was spending equal amount of time trimming weeds and either restringing the head or freeing up the line on the spool. The Tecomec seemed like the perfect solution by eliminating spooled line. However, it did not mount with any of the supplied hardware. This problem was relatively easy to solve with a drill press and a vice. I drilled the #4 supplied nut out to 3/8 inch to make a spacer. Since none of the supplied screws worked, I used the vise to press the screw out of the Ryobi knob. I slipped the Tecomec head onto Ryobi Hex head mount, placed the supplied flat washer on top of the head, slipped on the spacer and completed the assembly with the Ryobi screw. I now have the most useful string trimmer I have ever seen, now with twice the working strings. Now I just cut 13-inch lengths of .095 line off my supply spool. I did not rate this as 5 stars because I had to devise a mount. The Tecomec head does produce 5-star results.

would not work on Husq 128L. Well made product, returned to sender with zero issues.

Easy to swap out string but not universal
It is very easy to put in new string but it is not universal. I have a Stihl weed eater and there are no adaptors that fit. I had to modify some washers. It wasn't very difficult but it should fit all of the common weed eaters It accepts fairly large gauge string so it can last a long time.

The winner is
I’ve finally found a replacement head that last and does a perfect job. After buying a different type head every 3 or 4 months only to have them fall apart, this one has last over 2 years. All I can add to try and help anyone considering this product is spray some lube into the wire feeder holes every once in a while. It keeps the buttons you press while feeding in the wire from sticking open. I also give it a quick rinse after I’ve used it. I give this head 5 solid gold stars.

Heavy duty
This product is from Italy. Its construction and design are first class. Very easy to load, holds well and takes different sizes of line. Now, the only problem I can see is someone with a smaller size engine might find their trimmer slowing down. I have a large engine and it slowed mine down by a few RPMs at WOT. The 4 line's create more drag than 2. I had to modify one of the adapters to make this work, so it was not a true bolt on. UPDATE. My trimmer was still to slow with 4 lines. So I removed one side and all is well. Disappointed, but it is so well made and easy to load, I'm still satisfied.
