I bought this to hold a very light decoration. Installed and placed the decor on it and within 5 minutes the shelf ripped off the wall - apparently the included hardware had screw heads that were too small to hold it in place. I've installeddozens of similar style shelves so I am sure it wasnt user error beyond not realizng the poor quality of the product before my dragon smashed into pieces on the floor. At least I no longer need a display shelf. Spend a few extra $$ and get a quality shelf that installs with a hidden bracket. Easier to install and will keep what you put on it safe.

So, the bad reviews for these seem to mostly be because they're expensive. That is kind of silly, I mean you knew what they cost before you bought them. The problem isn't that they're expensive, it is that they are horribly over priced for how cheap they're made and packaged. I bought three of these, and they all arrived in similar condition. They're basically white plastic wrap covered MDF of some sort, and come in an open face box which allows them to get horribly marked up. Mine had green crap all over the top, nicks all over, and oddly, a lot of pencil marks all over the shelves. Also, being the white material is balloon thin, anything you put on them will mark them up furtherAlso, don't use the included template they give you to drill holes. It will put you way off. Best thing to do is make a straight line with a level, and then line the shelf up on its side on the line and make a small pencil mark in the center of each mounting hole.

These shelves came with black marks on one of them. It could have happened anywhere because there is no plastic over the cardboard so you can touch the shelves in the packaging. I tried to clean off the marks but couldn't get them to come off. No big deal because they will be up high so no one will actually see the marks on top. My husband is a carpenter so he knows how to handle things and he had an awful time getting these things up. First he used the supplied hardware but when the shelves were up they were not sturdy and could easily be shaken while on the wall without anything on them. He pulled out the little anchors and used twist and lock ones that hold much more weight. Once it was all said and done the shelves look great but it was a lot of work for something that should have been a simple job.

Now that I managed to get this mounted to the wall properly (with help), it's a great little shelf. However, actually getting the shelf ONTO the wall was an absolute pain. I assumed it would have some sort of L bracket supports or more intuitive mounting system, but I was wrong. There's basically just two holes in the side. You're supposed to put two screws in the wall and then manuever the shelf onto them. Did not work well at all. It also seemed like the screws were supposed to slide into place, but the path through which they would slide weren't wide enough.

Love these little shelves! Recently repainted the whole kitchen, but had no where to really put all of the extra K-Cup boxes for the Kuerig as I didn't want any more clutter as well. I ordered two of these and put them on the wall above the coffee maker where it sits in the corner of the counter. These worked out perfect and I know have enough space on one shelf for the small boxes and the other shelf is for the sweeteners and other essentials.

Instructions dont say what size bit to use (1/4 BTW) and crap anchor broke. Replaced with a spare i had, mounted, tryed to level gently, and it rips instantly. See picture, backing is made of thin cardboard. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND!

This is a nice shelf for something light. I have a small wooden carving (maybe 2lbs) that sits very nicely on there. I wouldn't put anything heavy on it, but it is a nice accent piece.

Elegant and beautiful, perfect solution for my office. Only negative thing i would remark is the product had a few discolourations. But when it's hanging on the wall it's not really noticable.

I was very disappointed with this product. The shelf is built out of a very delicate material. When I tried to slide mine over the wall mounting hardware, the pin pulled out of the back ruining the shelf. Now I have two holes in my wall and a shelf that I can't use. Do not buy Nexxt Maine shelves!!

I researched for a month various items for my new condo and this one was by far one of the best purchases. Don't expect it to hold books or the like, but a small plant or picture frames is perfect. I plan on purchasing a couple more to strew about behind my wall-mounted television. Highly recommend. Screw in a stud if you can. Use a level.
