Two trips out with the family to launch the rockets we built. 1st day, could not get the engine to ignite. Thought it was the battery in the Estes launch controller. Stopped on way home and got battery, weird because the battery was new when we put it in and only used it once before but that was 8 years ago. Next day go back out. Did not go well. Ended up using 12 igniters to get a whole three rockets off the ground! Ridiculous! Never had this problem before. Total of 13 igniters for 3 launches, a 23% success rate! Way to go Estes!

Got these for a weekend scout outing related to the "Rocketry" merit badge. The assortment was perfect. When it was all said and done, it was enough for a couple hours of none-stop launching and rocket/parachute recovery. Note: If you have particularly large or heavy model rockets, you will probably want to focus on kits with the larger and longer burning engines. Also, make sure to check the rules in your county - or else you could have a park ranger or sheriff roll up and cite you for fire danger.

Starters do not start, cheaply made, not enough spark to ignite. Better off making your own. Several engines would not start. I used these years ago and never had problems like this, not made like they used to!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Quickest path to disappointing the children. After the excitement of building their rockets and going to the park to launch we got nothing! The igniters don't work. Garbage rockets and launcher and disappointed kids.

Must have if you have multiple rockets. You’ll definitely use every one of these motors! Everything you need to put your rockets in “SPACE” and then some in a tiny little box. And by some I mean that wonderful recovery wading.

A few extra igniters would be nice. Estes must know that they don't work 100% of the time. Often due to user error, but still, include a few extras.

Nice to have a mix of different size motors. We have 2 different size rockets, so having a few options when we go out is nice. On windy days it’s nice to have the smaller motors to make recovery easier.

Went through about 10 of them and 3 were duds. Bummer for the price.
