A comparison between the Kitchen Supreme spiralizer and the hand crank style
I love this little spiralizer and use it almost daily. I used to own a large spiralizer with a hand crank. Despite the fact that my new spiralizer is half the price, I like this simple, compact design much better. First, this one makes very thin strands which are very palatable and less crunchy. The hand crank style had four different blades, of which I used only one anyway (for the smallest strands), and the strands were more like full-size spaghetti but curly and crunchy (referring to zucchini here). Second, with the Kitchen Supreme spiralizer it's very easy to decide how long the strands should be, simply be pulling out the vegetable slightly to break the strands. The hand crank style would make extremely long strands which I would then have to shorten with a knife. And third, my old spiralizer eventually broke. The handle snapped off, making it useless. The Kitchen Supreme spiralizer has no parts to snap off or break, so it should last a long time. And finally, the small size of the Kitchen Supreme spiralizer takes up a fraction of the space of my old one, and it's much quicker to clean. No product is perfect, and so here are the downsides: The Kitchen Supreme spiralizer takes a bit of patience and wrist-work. If I had to spiralize a lot at once, I would find it cumbersome and tiring. Not a problem for me since I only do one vegetable at a time, but a potential problem if you needed to do a bunch of vegetables at once. And likely to be a problem for people with carpal tunnel syndrome. The other downside is that you couldn't spiralize a whole sweet potato like you can with the hand crank style, because a potato would be too large. I haven't tried it yet, but I suppose you could just cut it down to fit properly. Neither of these downsides are problems for me, which is why I gave it 5 stars. Overall, it's a great little gadget and well worth the price.

and my whole family loved it; even DH who is a meat and ...
I used my spiral slicer for dinner last night for the first time with zucchini. Made Meatballs and sauce, served it over the cooked veggie noodles, and my whole family loved it; even DH who is a meat and potatoes kind of man. He even requested to have it again soon. WOW and double WOW! It worked perfectly, no problems. Took no time at all to get a bowl of noodles. Not only was the meal delicious, but we all had fun making the noodles, since everyone had to try their hand at making them. Please note there will be a piece of zucchini left approx. 1-1/2" long that you can not safely spiralize. I simply put these in a baggie in the fridge, and added some to a veggie omelet for breakfast this morning. And may add some to a salad later today. So all in all me and my family are already eating more vegetables with no waste. This is the best purchase I have made this year for my self (since starting on low carb way of eating), and the best purchase I have made for my kitchen. I love it. I did read some reviews on the size and how small it is. Honestly, I could not hold it in my hand comfortably if it was any bigger. Call me "Baby Bear", but I think its just RIGHT!!!! The clean up was easy, and safely done with the brush that is included with the purchase. Overall I give this product a 10 on a scale of 1-5. It was a great price, for a great product that I will be using for years to come. Will also be giving these to family and friends for Christmas. Thanks for a well made, affordable product that will be a healthy addition to my family and home....

Great gadget for healthy cooking, though it's a little on the small side
The Kitchen Supreme team knows what they're doing selling this product. It works really well and the quality seems good. It worked great for spiralizing zucchinis, as they are small in diameter. However, it didn't work well for yellow squash, as even a small squash is too big in diameter for this unit. I had to slice the sides of the squash to get it to fit into the spiralizer, which worked, but you miss out on the really nice long strands that include the colorful peel. Not a big deal, but if I had it to do over again, I would choose a unit with a bigger opening diameter. For the same reason, I don't see it working too well with a potato, as you'd have to really slice up the potato to make it skinny enough to fit into the unit. The full color recipe book was a nice touch and unexpected, as I figured it would be a PDF or ebook, but, no, it's a nice quality actual booklet. It has good recipes, though they don't appear to have been written by Kitchen Supreme. They seem kind of general and refer to a mandolin or spiral cutter instead of specifically mentioning the unit you just bought. Also, short of the tips in the very back of the book (strange place for them), I did not see any actual instructions that teach you how to use it. Sure, it was easy enough to figure out, but at first I did have a few questions that could have easily been addressed in the booklet. Such as: 1. Should I cut the end off the squash? A: Yes 2. Should I cut the squash in half or just put the whole thing in? A: Up to you, but I found it easier to twist it when it was long, so just do the whole thing at once. 3. How should I use the little round, spiked, twisting cap? A: You shouldn't need it until you've fed the whole squash in and can no longer turn it with your fingers easily. 4. What kind of vegetables are best to spiralize? A: It works really well with zucchinis. Any squash that is bigger than about 2" in diameter, though, won't work well -- trim off the edges of it to fit. 5. And a very simple question that I never even thought of, but some people might wonder: do you cook the vegetables in any way before spiralizing or just put them in raw? A: You certainly want them uncooked/raw. As far as I know, the squash would just fall apart if you tried to cook it first. I also don't see any markings on the unit explaining what the difference is from one end to the other. Both blades look the same to me but when I tried them, it looks like you get a bit of a different result. All in all, great product. Other than the small size issue, I love it. I'll buy from this company again.

Easily add more tasty veggies to your life!
I am a total pasta junkie, but trying to get healthier. I've seen a number of recipes for veggie noodles and wanted to give them a try. I am now a huge fan of zucchini noodles, and pretty much use them as a pasta substitute in all my old pasta recipes. Obviously I need an easy sprializer if I'm eating that many noodles, so I've now gotten 2. I started with a large "crank" style, which I love, but I also camp a lot and wanted a small version that wouldn't take up much space in my RV. Did a little research here on Amazon (Thank you Amazon for pulling together all these products and reviews - and thank you fellow reviewers) and landed on this unit. Turned out to be a great decision. I have gotten and have now used the veggie spiralizer twice for zucchini - my favorite noodle substitute. I still need to try some harder vegetables. So far, for the zucchini, it's been great. I wanted a fairly compact one that I could keep in my RV. This is small, takes up much less drawer space than the bigger "crank" units, it's sturdy, and the addition of the peeler and the cookbook are a nice plus. I also like the little bag/case to keep it together and tidy in the drawer. The 2 sizes of shredding holes are also just right (Gives you essentially "spaghetti" and "rice noodle" type sizes. My 2 concerns would be that the brush included doesn't really clean the blades that well (a toothbrush seems to get in there better) and the "holder" at the top with the little pins to hold the food isn't very effective. For the zucchini, it just spun in the top of the food. As a result, the first time I ended up with what seemed like quite a bit of waste (2 inch piece of zucchini with a pointy end). The second time, I thought to grab a fork when I started getting to the end, and that worked out much better. I didn't end up with nearly as much waste - no more than what you get from the bigger "crank" spiralizers. You do definitely need something to grip the food, and I wonder if carrots or potatoes would be harder or easier - I think harder if trying to use finger strength, but probably fine using the fork. Even with those 2 caveats, I generally find myself grabbing this one (I haven't moved it to the RV yet), because it's just so quick and easy, and a bit less to clean up than the bigger unit. Hard to go wrong with this purchase if you want to add more tasty veggies to your life :-)

The product works good for its size, the included "extras" were a let down
I bought the Spiral Slicer Spiralizer for a birthday present. The product is actually much smaller than it appears on Amazon. I was expecting it to be a little bigger in size and was to be honest, a little shocked when I opened the package and saw how small it is. The cleaning brush, peeler, and cook book were mini as well. The product works good for its size. I was disappointed with the extra cook book that came with it because I thought it would be larger in size and have more recipes. But the actual spiralizer does the job. It is a great tool to have in any kitchen! One good thing about the small size is that it is easy to store and travel with! I did not receive instructions on how to get the E book which is one of the main reason I bought this specific product, because it came with the e book as well. The product is easy to use and simple which makes it great for anyone of any cooking skill to use. I love how it makes eating healthy fun and easy! The only thing I wish was better was the "extras" that come with the spiralizer (book,e book, cleaning brush, and peeler) and that it was slightly bigger, then it would be perfect in my opinion!

Where have you been all my life
I was skeptic at first not of the product but of how much "Zoodles" taste like spaghetti. Well I was quite surprised its pretty close to the real thing not only taste but texture too. Making the Zoodles were so simple my only issue was that the noodle size is not clearly marked. I just looked at the size of the holes and figured out which one was the thinner one. It couldn't have been simpler, it was like sharpening a pencil put the zucchini in and twist. The first batch I made I left the skin on, heated some oil and garlic in a pan. I let the oil and garlic heat for a minute on low till the garlic was sauteed. Added the zucchini noodles and tossed them in the oil. I added salt, pepper and oregano tossed again and let it cook for 3 minutes. I added a low calorie vodka sauce and if I didnt know better I would have said it was spaghetti. They noodles had a slight crunch to them but still so good. One zucchini made about 1/2 a bowl of pasta or at least the one that I used. Next I wanted to try without the skin and get to use the cheap plastic peeler that was included. Well I had egg on my face when I tried to use the peeler that thing was like slicing with a hot butter knife. It was very easy to peel the zucchini which was surprising, I cooked the zucchini the same way but a little bit longer to get rid of the crunch. However this time it was a bit mushy, I think that without the skin 3 minutes would have been perfect but I did 5 minutes. Still tasted great and without the skin it even looked like mushy spaghetti(my bad). Cleaning was easy ran it under some water took the brush made a pass or two to get anything else out and then threw it in the dishwasher where the Dish fairy will clean it and dry it for me. I would recommend this to anyone and I have recommended it to a couple of friends and family members already.

A Gift for Anyone Who Eats!
Thanks to Amazon's faster than fast service, my Spiral Slicer Spiralizer Complete Bundle arrived in under two days. We've been enjoying Zoodles and Squoodles and every type of veggie noodle we can come up with and decided it was time to go for a bit more simplicity in preparation. After doing my research, I decided on the one top ten listed product that offered not only dishwasher clean-up but a very small footprint as well. The ceramic peeler came as a surprise, I never thought I wanted one and it turns out, that is one handy item. It quickly pares away the right amount of peel and flesh from every fruit and vegetable I tried it on and it doesn't require repetitive motion over the same spot to achieve what we need. The actual Spiralizer is a gem of a tool. The silver (stainless steel) handle allows just the right amount of pressure and the fact that the Spiralizer or the vegetable (your choice) is turned instead of some crank or extra gadget. I found that by the time I started creating Zoodles out of the second prepped zucchini, I was very comfortable with the process. Thus far, we tried carrots, sweet potatoes, yellow crookneck squash, cukes and zukes, and even largish chunks of melon. The accompanying cook book surprised us with some simple but sophisticated dishes that we plan to try out inn the next few weeks. Our first attempt at Spiralized cooking was the beautiful shrimp and zucchini dish from that cook book. It was not only attractive and tantalizing but absolutely delish. While cleanup requires nothing more than a ride in the top rack dishwasher cycle mode, I found hand washing worked well and made me feel as if I was pampering the blades a bit. The bundle is well thought out and performs better than expected, especially for the modest Amazon price. The small brush and storage bag round out the bundle and make keeping all components together a cinch. I cannot recommend this more than my five star rating but wish I could. For anyone who wants to switch to a healthier diet or simply add a new wrinkle to your daily menu, this small hand held machine will do the trick. Thank you Kitchen Supreme, for a product that lives up to its hype. UPDATE: July 11, 2016. Still fascinated with this oh-so-handy tool, I discovered how to make the veggie noodles come out in an almost perfect continual string of pasta. All we did was set the Spiral Slicer on end and use a whole zuke, cuke or other veggie as the crank. Yep, just hold the Spiralizer in place and turn the vegetable, letting the strands go loose and hit the countertop surrounding the tool. What we ended up with was the longest, most perfect and tasty zoodles, cuoodles and swoodles you can hope for and in just seconds flat. Sautรฉing garlic, shallots, mini-peppers, bok choy and mushrooms first in a mix of peanut and sesame oil, adding in a bit of red pepper flakes and finally heating the zoodles for no more than a minute or two (tops) makes the most delicious main course or side dish. Even better, cook the end product less, toss with some toasted walnuts and green onions and eat cold later in the day. I'm inspired!

Very good for small quantities
This little "spiralizer" works very well if you want to turn one or two zucchini into spaghetti strings. It has two sets of "teeth;" a fine set and a wider set. You trim off the ends of the squash, stick it into the funnel shaped opening for the size you want, and start twisting. Out comes very well formed noodles. No setup and simple to clean. That said, here are my observations. First, it takes a whole lot of twisting to run one squash through the little shredder. As you might guess, the squash goes through the big noodle side faster than the small noodle side. By the end of two squash, you have a whole bunch of noodles and your wrists are tired of twisting. If you have a lot of squash to do, consider a spiralizer with a crank. Second, there is a "cap" that I thought was just a cover for the device. It is actually designed as a "handle" to put on the end of the squash, and it has a sharp spike on its underside. Be careful with it or you will stab a finger. Also, it does not work well. You will probably end up just holding the squash with your hand and twisting it. In that case.... Third ... Do NOT get your fingers inside the spiralizer. There is a very sharp blade in there that is quite close to the opening. If you get your fingers inside the device while trying to use up as much of the squash as possible you will end up with a cut on a finger. I know. I do give this four stars because it works very well and does exactly what it is advertised to do. If you just want to prepare a couple squash for a salad, it is the perfect tool. Pop it out of its little storage bag, make your noodles, swish it under water with the little brush that is included and then toss it in the dishwasher if you think it needs some extra cleaning. Nothing to set up or take down. Just keep your fingers out of it and accept that you will have some squash stubs that are an inch or two long.
