This is a great case FOR ITS DESIGNED USE. The padding is excellent and divided into cells that can be cut out to shape the padding to fit what you need. This is not truly a "tough" case, although it is rigid and pretty strong. It would not hold up to extended hard use or lots of pressure stacked on it. But it will knock about the trunk and keep your stuff safe and dry. It has two loco spaces. Of course that will prevent pilfering, but it would not deter someone who really needed to get inside and had more than, say 45 seconds and a sharp object. So this is more of a casual case for leaving the office or the studio and packing your stuff to the field or locations. Great value

Fantastic. It is not rugged or waterproof, but it is durable with care. If it is raining, I am not worried. If I drop it in the lake..well then I am worried! I use it as a grab-and-go case. It has a Zoom H4nPro, the charger, 6 sets of batteries, an Audio Technica mic, mic flag, and a 6' XLR cable, a wind sock for the zoom, and a foam filter for the mic (those last two sort of ride on top and not in a compartment.When I am recording in the field, I can jsut grab it and go and I am all set for whatever. If I need more mics I have a set of three Behringers in a similar case. Makes it really easy.Only suggestion for improvement--maybe put some sort of sliding pocket on the outside to slide a business card into or have an ability to label it.

This case is well built but is not quite as sturdy as other Casematix cases in the same price range. I would say it offers moderate protection from falls and crushing, however little protection from water intrusion and may not hold up in very hard use environments. That said, this is more than adequate for your typical podcaster or small video production creator to take on the road. I would just think twice before taking it near water or along for extreme sports, mountain climbing, etc.There is a funny smell from the foam when you first receive it, but it does go away after a few days of leaving the case open. I attribute this to the foam likely being recently manufactured. Not an issue for me, but a note for anyone with any scent sensitivity.

This case has proven to be a superb choice for me. I'm using it to hold my Zoom H5, X/Y Mic head and with a few additional modifications to the foam, my Audio-Technica ATH-M30x headset together. This allows me to keep the primary components of my audio recording setup together in one place, ready-to-go when I need it. The foam provides plenty of internal protection for the H5 and the hard-shell case provides protection for the headset and recorder. I don't generally take this setup into places where the additional cost of a waterproof/crushproof case, like a Pelican, would be justifiable, so finding this case at a reasonable price was perfect for me!All-in-all if you're looking for an inexpensive case that will provide a good level of protection for your equipment and you're not too concerned with it being tossed in the ocean or run over by a tank, then this is probably the case for you.

Was able to put portable podcast mixer in here. Fits perfect. Customized my fit with extra batteries and a charger. Highly recommend.

The case protects my Mike very well, The foam can be customized for any other accessories that you have. Love the price, Others wanted 3 times for a lot smaller case. Perfect Size and not heavy.

1st, let me say that people have the right to write what ever they choose regarding their opinion of a product, but in fairness, when posting a review and rating something, price absolutely has to be considered. I saw a review on this product where it received less stars because it wasn't water proof and another gave it a poor rating because it wasn't made of metal but then stated, "if you want something heavy duty you are going to have to shell out the money.", which is an indication that they realized a "heavy duty" case would cost a significant amount more. Again, PRICE does have a bearing on how a product should be rated! As a Prime member I paid $24.99 for this! That's less than I paid for a nylon camera bag that didn't have adjustable foam padding! This is absolutely perfect for what it does and the pricing is far less than one would typically pay for a/v gear casing! Another GREAT advantage of a case such as this is, if you create sections for the items you are putting into this case, you will know instantly when something is missing. I can't tell you how many times something got lost on a job because we thought we had it but didn't! A case like this will insure that I don't forget anything that was in it!

Needed a small case to protect my Zoom mics. This case fulfills that purpose. Even though it is a little thin, it works well to have a sturdy case to keep my mics in. It wouldn't do well if it was stepped on, or ran over, but a little pro-tip for ya.....don't keep your mic cases on the ground ;-)
