Great for sound therapy
I bought this device as a convenient option to administer sound therapy for treating my tinnitus. To be clear: this device is nothing more than a battery powered tiny speaker that you can switch between Bluetooth (playing sounds/music from your phone) and playing sounds from an SD card. One SD card, containing 12 or so soundscapes, is included, and one of these files provides the pink noise that I am looking for (there are quite a few others available to choose from). If you have the sounds you want to play on your phone, or can stream them from there, then this device is just an ordinary (tiny) Bluetooth speaker. There is no specific medicinal or therapeutic feature in this device (nor did I expect anything to be there). Given the small size, this is great to take along on business trips, which is very important to me. Very well done, but no magic. Highly recommend!

Loud, but need constant USB
So the sound is loud enough. My hubby has a hard time hearing his alarm clock in the morning. I don't know if I got a faulty model or not because the sound has petered out (faded) about 3x. When I pick it up or wave my hand towards it, it comes back. (Jinkies, is this from a paranormal reaction or.....? ) Well, anyway, I will just keep the USB hooked up to it even if this still happens. Took it on a trip recently and it worked great this way, and no fading. Edit: Downgraded to one star. The little memory card got jacked up without us even touching it, so we tried to use it as a Bluetooth speaker. It still failed when it started making an annoying popping noise. I'm sure I can't even use it as a speaker even. Don't waste your $$.

THIS IS GREAT! Helps with my tinnitus.
This is a fantastic little speaker and noise generator! I bought one from my audiologist's office for about $90, then found this one on Amazon. I bought this one as a gift for my daughter-in-law. It has a micro SD card that I assume you can load your own tunes, but I'm using the built-in sounds. It also has bluetooth, so I use an app called MyNoise from the Apple App Store. The built-in sound that helps the most with my tinnitus is the crickets chirping...we recently moved from Texas to the mountains and I realized that we don't have crickets at night! I was waking up in the middle of the night, then my tinnitus wouldn't let me go back to sleep. The soothing sounds of the crickets helps me get back to sleep. I actually think my dogs sleep later in the morning with the crickets, and don't try to wake me up at 5 a.m.—maybe all in my head, but it seems pretty consistent. This is GREAT for travel, too. We cruise a lot, so it will be nice to use for music in our stateroom or to drown out noises in the hallway. I've even used it for camping in my car...I have a self-inflating mattress for my car, and having a little noise puts me right to sleep.

Great for tinnitus
I bought this because it was a recommendation noise machine for people who suffer with tinnitus (ringing in the ears). I developed tinnitus in early Feb and basically was getting no sleep at all. This sound machine has really great volume output and a nice selection of preloaded noises. I also like that I can plug an audio device (like headphones) into it or play Bluetooth. Would recommend definitely giving it a try if you suffer from tinnitus. It's small too, so I take it wherever I travel. The only negative thing I don't like about it.. I wish the buttons had a slight glow or light on them so I can easily adjust the volume or sound during the night without having to turn a lamp on to see.

Worked great until I needed it every night, all night
I bought the Sound Oasis to give some white noise in a crowded office suite area, where we could hear one another via the space under the doors. This definitely worked in masking the voices of my clients, and my voice as well. The "brown noise" feature is what I used, better at masking our voices than the white noise feature. Then I moved (my home) to a city environment where there are barking dogs, trucks stopping at a stop sign, similar. At first the Sound Oasis worked great. But at about 3 months in, it must have hit a fatigue wall from being on not an hour at a time but 6-8 hours a night. Specifically, it began to do one or more of these things almost every night: - shut off on its own after only 2-3 hours, emitting a loud warbly alert that wakes you up and flashing all kinds /colors of lights - shuts off, then about 10 seconds later comes back on, as loud as before -- which allows outside noise to invade the room as if the machine isn’t there at all - the brown noise "skips", emitting noise in bursts or as if the stream of noise is being interrupted like a record skipping It’s a nice, small, compact size and can be used as a blue tooth speaker; I haven’t done that yet but you can imagine it’s good for that. BUT: Serious design flaw: there are several buttons on the device, all the same size and shape (teeny -- push with your nail, not your whole fingertip -- and rectangular). You cannot make the system louder or not so loud without turning on a light in the room, putting on your glasses so you can read the tiny print on the device that labels each button, and pushing the teeny buttons for more sound or less sound. There instead should be a LARGE button on top or similar, which you can FEEL without having to fully wake up and see the darn thing, so you can just push it one way or the other for more sound or less. Despite these issues, I have ordered another one to see if the flaws in the one I have are an exception. And I’ve ordered another brand that friends have raved about. Once I have done a comparison, I’ll post here again hoping it will help others.

Perfect!
Update #2 Here we are 4 years after purchasing this machine and I have to say it was money well spent! It has been playing night and day plugged in for 4 years!!! The last couple of days it has been turning off by itself once in awhile but starts again when I turn it back on. I am going to buy another one just to have because I think the battery has reached the end of it's life, I certainly can't complain for spending $25 a year for excellent sleep. I have been using a sound machine for years and traveled with one as well. I had a small cheap one that worked 100% as intended but I noticed my sleep was getting worse and worse. I started meditating and playing singing bowls which led me to meditation music on YouTube. I found a TON of sleep music on there to align your chakras while sleeping and started listening to it during the day. I wanted to listen at night so started looking for a good sound machine and found this. I don't mind the price if it will do what I want it to do. I downloaded the music onto a sd card and switched out the cards when the machine arrived. It has been going for a week solid and not missed a beat. I think the sound quality is excellent and it can play softly or fill up the whole room and sounds great either way! It is on the heavy side but that speaks to craftsmanship. I couldn't be more pleased with this! UPDATE; Here we are a few months later after my return window closing and a speaker blows. I wrote to the company asking if they would make it right. The very first response from the company was "Is this your right address? It will go out in todays mail." AMAZING customer service! Sent me a brand new unit along with a mailing label to return the defective one. Still LOVE this sound machine.

The best
I love this wonderful sound machine. It has many sounds that help one sleep well. With many health issues, this helps me to fall asleep much better. There are many sound modes...and volume of course. Sounds of waves. Rain, or birds in trees or wherever...a multitude of creative sounds to help me relax at bedtime. I am thankful for this. It is also very easily transported should I need it for travel. This is my 2nd one. After nearly 9 years of using it nightly. It finally stopped working. So fortunate to find one again here on AMAZON. I AM THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL to have another one and it is a wonderful sound piece of equipment. Love it!!
