DocaPole Big-Reach Pole Hook Attachment for Extension Pole for Boats, Hanging Lights, Pool, Clothing and Other Retrieval (Pole NOT Included)

I have a DocaPole which is useful for a number of tasks and this little hook is invaluable for scraping leaves out of the roof valley, putting up Christmas lights on the house and essentially reaching anything that my arms will not.It is expensive, but it is metal and therefore should give a very long service.

This hook is much smaller than I expected, but in fairness I really should have looked at the spec before buying. Despite its small-ish size, it feels pretty sturdy although at the time of writing I'm yet to use it. I brought this to attach to my 9.1m DocaPole, for garden use only. Initially I need to to remove a lot of dying ivy that's strangling a large Redwood tree, and, on the same tree but much higher up, to 'try' and remove a broken deadwood branch that sits approx. 8m up. I'll try to remember to update this review once I have completed these initial two tasks!

Brilliant tool for your docapole. Makes all those hard to reach jobs so easy. No need to climb up on anything any more.

Have only used it so far to lift down/hang up bird feeders to avoid having to get out steps. It seems well constructed and does this job well.

Was very effective used to enable to reach unrulely hedge .Unfortunately unscrewed and was lost in hedge .Suggest tying string to hook to help locate stray hooks

Fantastic for the outdoor Xmas lights, no more ladders

I purchased this hook along with the pole to remove crow and magpie nests in my trees. Works great for both pushing and pulling things. Works well to place Xmas lights in trees, bird houses up on branches and such. Hook is designed well for grabbing, pulling and lifting things out of reach.

Works to pull stuff from the back of a truck

Great boat hook, I am sure. But I don't own a boat. I needed something to lift bird feeders into high places hanging on tree branches. The 'top' of the hook does not hold wired handles well. You must not lift your pole with too much of an angle. Fits nicely on the up to 18 feet painting poles allowing you to reach that boat before it floats away.For my needs...is the rating.As a boat hook, I would rate it 5.
