Have used my grinder once a week for 4 years and love it!
I've had my grinder since 2004 and I love it! I was going to buy one for a friend so I came to Amazon to do so and was shocked to see all of the people who don't like it! We are "weekend coffee drinkers" who only tend to grind beans once a week on weekends, when we are entertaining or just relaxing around the house. I am usually grinding beans for about 5 or 6 people at a time and I use it, as the instructions say, by grinding only 20 or 30 seconds at a time. I use it for grinding good quality beans to a coarse grind for use in my French Press. I wonder if some of the people whose motors have started smoking or burned out have been keeping the motor running for a few minutes at a time? Or perhaps they have washed the cup in the dishwasher so much with hard water that there is a scale build up? I like the fact that the grinder cup has a plastic lid, so that if I grind too much I can easily save it in the refrigerator. I also like the fact that it is so easy to use and that you just press down on the bar on the top of the clear plastic lid to get it to grind. When you stop pressing the bar, the motor stops. And, I can see inside and decide if I want to grind a bit more or not. Additionally, I like the fact that the grinder is quite compact and can sit on my counter without taking up too much room, plus is stainless steel, so looks good. The best part is that the price is quite reasonable for a lightly used small appliance. I would recommend this grinder to anyone who likes to grind their own beans for use in a French Press occasionally, but it may not be heavy duty enough for daily use (I'll tell you in another 3 years, because that would be the equivalent, I suppose!)

Best Coffee Grinder, Just Buy It!
I love this coffee grinder! This is the 3rd one I've had, the first 2 were given to me already used, this is the first brand new one I've purchased. It's much quieter than the last two! Super easy to use, grinds beautifully, clear lid is nice so you can see what's going on. It even includes a lid to put on the grinder cup if needed. I don't have any issues with it overflowing out the sides.

Great quality
Excellent quality and works great. Has removable compartment with cover to store ground beans in. Love it!

Good, but a little messy
I don't have the problem with uneven grind that has been reported by a couple of other reviewiers. It seems to be best to grind with the cup at least half full. Lesser amounts won't grind as fine. You can grind all day and never get a powder, but it's a fine grind for regular day to day use. The only real problem that I can see is that the ground coffee will make its way past the blade drive mechanism in the bottom of the cup and makes a mess underneath. When you take the cup out you have to clean this out or when you try to reseat the cup it won't fit correctly. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice if they had gone to the trouble to engineer this in a way that would not allow the coffee to escape the cup. Tip: grind for 5 seconds, stop, grind for another 5 seconds, stop, repeat until you get the results you want. This seems to work better than just grinding away for extended periods as the pause and restart seems to mix things up for grinding better. I've found that about 3 or 4 of these 5 second cycles produces a very acceptable result. Grinding for too long causes the motor to begin overheating, and you can smell this happening, but it's not really necessary to grind it that long. After about 15 or 20 seconds it won't get any finer anyway. Not the best on the market, but it's not a $200.00 grinder either. For $30.00 it's an above average deal. I give it a "thumbs up."

Cusinart DCG-12BC
We are attempting to replace our over 10 year old Cuisinart DCG-12BC grinder with the same exact one. We received the replacement and after 1 use the blade is making a really loud noise and the shaft is really loose. I think the shaft or bearing broke on it. Sent it back to Amazon and received a second replacement and the same this has happened. I'm done with this and looking for something else.. Very disappointed in Cusinart and how their product is garbage! Beware if you buy one!

Best coffee grinder I owned
This is the best coffee grinder I have had. I tried other brands and they weren't as durable as the Cuisinart. Great design and can be used for spices as well as coffee.

Great grinder at a reasonable price.
Product works very well. Easy to use. Easy to clean. I use one rounded tablespoon of beans for each two cups of water vice one for one like the instructions state, and the coffee tastes great. It does make a bit of noise when running, so don't try to run it if someone is sleeping nearby. Shipping was unsatisfactory though. Paid extra for two day shipping and the grinder didn't arrive for five days.

Excelente

Great coffee grinder.
I have 2, one in each of my homes. Both work well. Produce great coffee for the cappuccino maker.

Best grinder by far.
Great grinder, unfortunately they aren’t that durable. This is my third one in about 9 years, but still my favourite grinder by far- I’ll keep replacing them when they break.
