This is a good quality built instrument with a probe long enough to get down in the soil for a good reading. It seems pretty accurate. The only thing you've got to remember about this tool is that it takes a few minutes to get a reading since it's not a electronic device with batteries, but I feel you get a better handle on a ph reading

Works good and gives me the information that I need for my yard. Easy to read. Easy to use.

At first it wouldn't read correctly, got the same reading every place I took sample. I then sanded off probes with very fine sand paper and I think it is working correctly. Very happy that it works because I have several food plots where I need a reading and it doesn't have to be perfect.

I first purchased one of the cheaper gauges but found that the numbers were unreadable. You can get a measurement with the cheaper ones in whole numbers as a Ph of 6 or 7.. The scale on this meter is much larger and can be read in tenths. This gauge will allow the user to read a Ph of 6.1 vs 6.4. I use a lot of coffee grounds in my worm food and was concerned about the soil acidity this was creating. The Ph measured 6.1 which is OK. Again, the cheaper ones do not give you the confidence in the measurement... For an home gardener or worm farmer; this is a minimum and a "must own".

I used this meter successfully a couple of times in my backyard. On the third use, the tip broke off. I didn’t force it or hit it on anything or with anything. This happened within the year warranty and I submitted photos showing no exterior damage to the item but the manufacturer & seller still wouldn’t replace the item. Buyer beware! I’m a senior gardener on a fixed income - my money will never again go to these companies.

My only complaint is that the main housing is plastic. I assumed it would be light weight metal or aluminum. Otherwise it works as intended.

It works well for a while but shouldn’t be left outside. It fill with moisture and destroyed the unit.

The item arrived on time. The ground has been very hard so have only just started to use it so as not to damage the Tester Meter. It seems to be working well, but time will tell as it has only been used twice. It is being used to test the soil on mothing sites as the National Park does not have the information and it is invaluable information for the Lepidopterist.

Me gusto es practico y fácil de usar, lo único que no me gusta es que al momento de enterrarlo profundamente se siente como roza con lo que parecen ser piedras pequeñas y por lo mismo a veces se suele rayar de la varilla metálica; y espero que eso no afecte en la precisión de los datos que arroga.

I went through about 6 of the cheap hydro meters. The ones with the green plastic housing. They worked well, but they eventually all lose their tips in the soil. Very frustrating. I even tried bonding one with contact cement, but eventually lost the tip in the soil. So I decided to give this meter a try (yes, it's 3 times the price), but it is AMAZING. I wish I had bought it first. The tip is a screw on tip, so you will not lose it in the soil Just remember, this is still a sensitive piece of equipment. If it doesn't go into the earth relatively easily, STOP. Don't go any further. If you use it properly, it will do the job. Any failure or negative reviews I've read here are purely OPERATOR ERROR. Ignore them (as you can with most negative reviews). After using cheap meters and being utterly disappointed, this product is an absolute JOY. It's very well made and does exactly what it's supposed to do.

Very easy to use product which appears pretty robust. Be aware, however, that this item is Chinese made and shipped internationally. If you are a UK buyer, there will be duty to pay in addition to the online price.
