Very Hard
This reed is SO hard. It is going to need a lot of adjustment to make it playable. The tone is reasonably nice, but that's irrelevant if it is too hard to play comfortably. (Note, for some reason I was sent a purple-threaded Jones reed and it states that it is a medium artist English horn reed rather than the red reed that I ordered/paid for, so this review might not even be relevant.).

You just have to plan to do a little scraping.
If you are willing to do a little extra scraping to fine tune, it is okay.

Good back-up for hand made
Good reed for when you're in a pinch. I've bought enough of these from Amazon to know they are hit and miss, but more hit than miss.

Absolutely terrible
I ORDERED TWO REEDS AND ONE DIDN'T EVEN COME. It was just the box. The reed that did come was super closed at the tip and needed a ton of adjustment.
