I have to read the pamphlet that came with this a bitt better before I willl feel comfortable using it. It is very sharp and has attachments and would hate to cut myself with this blade. I am going to be using this for diamond painting therefore I need it to cut out the paper from the area I will be working on. I think this is very durable, will last long and is a good value for the money spent. One thing that does bother mer though is that it doesn't have any safety measures in place such as the blade retracting into itself or the handle if danger is detected. I know it sounds silly but quite honesly its the only way to make this a safe product for anyone under adult age to use.

It is so easy to cut. Very sharp blade! I use it to cut out images for Decoupaging!Plus great value for your money!

A few points that I am working out as I learn about this ceramic nib cutter:You need to be cutting a paper that is not a loose weave so to speak. I cut some thin-ish home made paper, and some paper that is newsprint weight. Both of these are not an dense, even press. Additionally you need to work on a surface that is firm. I tried using my bamboo crafting turntable. Between the "weight" and denseness of the paper and the bamboo wood of the surface under the paper I had some tearing. I had to go very slowly and precisely to lessen the tearing at small curves and corners. ... That said, the ceramic nib is small and that does help with the cutting as you go very slowly. Also go ahead and lift the nib of the knife and reposition for tight corners and curves. I am not sure what surface I should have under the paper I am cutting. Bamboo wood isn't a good choice. Metal would be too hard on the ceramic nib. Glass (like a glass cutting board) would probably be hard on the ceramic nib too.Again, technique is important (how much pressure you use, how slowly you go, and stopping and repositioning the nib all help this cutter work better.So, I took a star because this is certainly not like a super pointy exactly knife and is not simple to use. It is an okay tool to have but I'm not sure how often I'll reach for it in my crafting.

The pen blade is finer than the larger cutter with the black holder. They both work well, but this is the cats meow as far as super fine lines for detail! I don't use xacto blades on my wc paper due to the damage it can cause, but this works best OVER layers of paint that is already dried!

I got this knife for cutting washi tape in my planner and on letters. I wanted to be able to cut washi tape without scissors, and to be able to trim off rough edges when the tape was already laid onto a planner or envelope. This knife is precise and will cut only the washi, not the sheet below it. I'm very happy with it as it can trim off edges without me worrying about cutting the paper below or getting extra washi tape stuck to a scissors blade.

Easy to use as it is like using a pen. The cutting part cuts well. It comes with a cap, and I can toss in my pen bag to use when needed for crafts and such. Was recommended by a planner who said hers has stayed sharp for years.

Cut thin/crisp paper such as notebook paper well... but that's it. Even with significant pressure it left uncut pieces in thin cardstock and pulls/rips. I thought maybe it would work well to trim and weed designs on transfer paper but the transfer part of the paper has some stretch so it just pulled and ripped at it. Good ol' xacto knife worked circles around this thing.... and cut them better, too. This thing doesn't do well with curves, especially tight ones. The bulky tip also makes it hard to turn the "pen" to continue on a curved line. It did a semi ok job on a loose curve, like the one in the promotional picture.... but, when I tried it it cut some of it perfectly and pulled at the other parts.... like I said, stick with a sharp metal blade knife. Also, these tips are not replaceable (which I knew when purchasing) but I believe there is an upgraded version that allows you to replace the tips. Kinda glad I didn't spead the extra bucks on it though.... this will go in the kids crafting supplies. They often use printer paper and construction paper .... I will say that this is much safer than an actual knife, so theres a big plus if children are doing the crafting. It is "finger friendly" but I would still use close supervision.Conclusion: good for thin paper and kids to use on simple paper craftsNot so great for thicker materials (cardstock or thicker) and not great for intricate/delicate designs.

Oh how I love this blade! I have had so many issues with box cutter type knives, even ones made specifically for crafters, that I was curious as to whether this Slice Precision cutter could be an improvement. It definitely is! THe blade is ceramic, and pretty tiny, but MAN does it cut smoothly and accurately. I am a papercrafter and do most of my work on a Silhouette Cameo, but sometimes I need to cut stuff out by hand. This little thing is 1000 times better than the much wider metal blades, and you really do have better control. I can finally do some fussy cutting that doesn't look like a 5 year old used safety sissors!
