Quicksilver 806922 Thermostat Housing Sleeve

I opened up my mercruiser 3.0 (in-line 4 cyl) to find the interior of the t-stat housing very corroded. I had to damage the old plastic sleeve to get it out in order to clean it up and replace the thermostat, so I ordered this and it fitted perfectly.

This sleeve is required to hold the thermostat in place on a Mercruiser 5.7L EFI V8. Not too difficult to get the old one out, then install new thermostat with this positioned behind it.

Fit perfectly, not really an issue but the one I mangled out of the housing was a metal one and this replacement one is plastic.

If you plan on replacing your T-stat, you should really have a new one of these on hand. It is not likely you can reuse your old one.

Way overpriced for what it is. But, when you need it, you have to pay the price.
