There are fluids designed for Diesel engines and I believe those are red in colour. **Q: is this safe for the coolant system? i have it and i think some got sucked into the coolant tank** A: Yes, It's safe for the coolant system if you use the liquid in accordance with the instructions. **Q: How can I use this if my radiator does not have a cap?** A: It should go into the opening for the cap on the overflow bottle which should be where you can top up the coolant level. **Q: think if you put this on during warm up it will give a false negative. Doesnt do full green but very very light blue due temp chemical react ?** A: I used it on my Capri and had it in place from start up. I ran the car until the thermostat opened and the car was operations at full temp. Thankfully there was no colour change at all. Shouldn’t give a false negative and shouldn’t react with temperature. Highly recommend product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great item *by W***S on 4 February 2026* Worked as stated and easy to use ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Accurately diagnosed head gasket failure *by S***S on 7 September 2025* I'm sure no one wants to have to buy a head gasket testing kit, but sometimes necessity demands it. I brought this kit to test the head gasket of my Rover 45, with a 1.4 k series engine, renowned for head gasket failure. I had seen some symptoms of gasket failure, so brought this kit to be sure before taking to a garage. The kit contains instructions for use, which are easy enough to understand, but a little vague in some areas. We were left wondering if we were doing the right thing at some stages. The rubber bung looks like it would fit a wide variety of expansion tanks, as it has a fairly significant taper. There is enough liquid for probably 30 tests. The liquid is supposed to turn green, or yellow after about 5 minutes if exhaust gases are present in the coolant system. Sure enough, after about 5 minutes then liquid turned very slightly green. The colour change was so slight that we were still not 100% confident. But the garage confirmed that even a slight change is a smoking gun. After taking it to the garage, they confirmed that the head gasket was blown. So this test is definitely accurate. Just not to be used as the sole test, just as a guidance.
