McLane 2058 Edger 30-Inch Drive Belt

It was shorter than the 30” it says it is…hoping it’ll stretch out some in due time.

Several reviews had noted for the McLane Edger that belts would come off easy. Used my edger for 10 months and not once did belt come off or fray. So, I ordered the extra belt upon recommendations of others, but have not had to use it (extra belt)..yet. Great edger by the way! PS: Using non ethynol mid grade gas and filled with Mobil 1 oil. UPDATE: July 19, 2014--got the edger as noted in early 2013 and working on second season using it. Starts first pull every time. Still NO belt problems. Am wondering if folks who had problems were engaging the blade too deep in the ground suddenly to make it come off. I barely let my blade hit the dirt, mainly just edging the grass. Oh, there was a small stainless steel part that came with edger that was not in manual. I called Briges and found it was a deflector for the exhaust port. It didn't come with screws, so I bought two stainless small bolts and nuts to secure it. What it does is deflect the exhaust to the side of the back of the engine instead of the hot gases coming back straight on you (the operator.)

This belt was perfect fit for my Mclane edger. It needs to engage at movement of one "notch" on cutter and it does.

I have had my McLane edger for two and a half years. I average around 6 or 7 times a month edging 2000 feet (counting both sides) of very long driveway and several walkways. One day this belt popped up on the Amazon page where suggestions for me are displayed. I decided to go check the belt on the edger and I noticed that the edges of the belt show some signs of fraying. Nothing serious so far but to be prepared I decided to order a spare from Amazon to put in storage with other spare parts such as edger blades and spark plugs. This belt appears to be a duplicate of the one presently installed on the edger and although I don't expect to need it anytime soon it is ready when I am. Believe it or not but it is not made in China. It is made in Korea. I have no complaints whatsoever regarding the durability or the performance of the McLane belts. The price is right and the Amazon service is tops.
