Scratches Easily
It's expensive and the glass is easy to break. It looks nice, but I probably would choose a more durable aquarium a second time around. Before breaking it while trying to dump the water out from cleaning I had already managed to scratch the glass just by moving and placing rocks in the bottom. Scratches the first time you have to replace or wash the rocks and it's very heavy for such a small aquarium.

I love the fish tank although I used a different filter for my betta fish because bettas need a really gentle water flow. Its a great tank, and looks great on my dresser, simple and elegant. I wish the light had a switch instead of needing to unplug it to turn it off, but the light is great, and my plants are growing like crazy. I would have given it five stars, but the glass lid came with a piece chipped off. Other than that, I love it. I plan on buying more as my kids tanks crap out, which all the cheaper ones eventually do. Definitely worth the money.

Worth every penny!
I was looking for a 5 gallon tank for my Betta that was stuck in a .8 gallon and getting fin rot due to my lack of education. Once I learned they needed at least a 5 gallon and filtered tank my search was on. I looked everywhere for the perfect tank, one that would be stylish but also meet all my needs. I decided to spend the extra money and purchase the EcoPico and am so glad I did. It is such a simple design and system that it took no time to put together. Given the wattage the LEDs put out I decided to try my luck (first timer) with live plants because I had also read that artificial plants can tear your fishes fins. My plants are growing great, I have even had to prune one of them back twice because it is growing so well. I have had my tank for almost two months now and my water test great every time. The filter is so quiet if I didn't see plants moving I wouldn't even know it was on. My only concern had been the turbulence of the water from the filter on my Betta. Since he wasn't used to swimming much he was getting thrown around a bit. I called the company and they suggested I lower the filter in the water and that has helped completely. He is now doing great and loves his new home. My only complaint I have is there is no on/off switch for the LEDs, so you have to just plug and unplug to turn on and off. Two fixes for this are a plug in switch or a plug in timer, I prefer the switch because I like to have the tank lit late sometimes when I am in the room but for someone with a steady schedule the timer would be the best thing.**Update: I have now had my Ecopico for over a year now and my plants still look great. I am not very good with fish so I have lost a few in the beginning but I am improving. However, I want to comment on Ecoxotic. They are a great company to work with. Twice now I have had problems with my led, once was my fault when I plugged my laptop charger into the transformer and fried the leds. I even told them what I did and they still sent me a replacement free of charge.

Great concept however in a letter of a week the LED lighting detached from the light extension. Poor adhesive. Had to use rubber bands to hold lighting in place. They need a new strategy for this.

Ecoxotic EcoPico vs Fluval Chi
After housing my betta in a one gallon fish bowl for a year I decided it was time for an upgrade. I was deciding between this and the Fluval Chi but after reading reviews about how bettas get stuck in the Chi's filter I wanted to give this EcoPico a try. So far I've had the EcoPico for two months and some of its weaknesses have started to show. I'm giving this product an average review because it seems to have just as many pros as it does cons.Pros:Great shape and size, five gallons is very reasonable for my betta and pleco. It is made of glass; I prefer it over cheaper acrylic tanks. The LEDs are pretty bright. In fact I never had an algae problem until I started using the lights. The internal filter is quiet and does a great job at keeping my tank clean.Cons:The adhesive from the corners is starting to come apart and I find small white strands of it in my tank. The black adhesive from the corners have started to warp. They’re now wavy and unattractive.Unfortunately, the clamp for the LED arm does not tighten (it just spins in place) and back of the LED arm scratched my tank. There is no switch for the LED arm; it was annoying to unplug the light every night until I ordered a timer. When I bought this tank there weren’t enough reviews for me to make a better decision. I hope this helps everyone out there that is considering the Fluval Chi. I think they're both very similar tanks at similar prices so I had a hard time deciding between the two. After two months of ownership I still think the light/filter combo of the EcoPico is easier to work with than the Fluval Chi. Also don't let the lack of Amazon Prime eligibility deter you, I received the EcoPico in two days from MarineDepot. Also, if you can double the budget do yourself a favor and look at the Fluval Edge.

I love the beauty/ease of the this tank
I love the beauty/ease of the this tank. I changed the Filter to the Marina S10. The only issue is the included glass cover no longer fits. As a result some fish have jumped out! I have since lowered the water & seems to have solved. Otherwise I highly recommend this tank!

Great tank
I got this tank for my betta fish and so far he loves it. The tank has enough space for my one male betta, but I had to replace the filter that the tank came with because the current was a little too strong for him. Other than replacing the filter, there are no apparent negatives honestly, it looks great in my room and my betta looks happy which is what really matters.
