A Beautiful Perfume!
Yves Saint Laurent always has great parfumes. I was an avid user of "Parisienne" and when I ran out I was looking to switch things up a bit. I purchased one of their special edition "Paris" eau de toilette, but it smelled too much like alcohol on my skin. I'd received a sample a long time ago of Belle d'Opium, so I decided to just go for it! I absolutely love it! It's a great change from the fruity kind of scent. It exudes a very classy feeling, and smells amazing! I get compliments all the time. I first went to Nordstrom to buy it, but they stopped carrying it. (NO idea why!) The saleswoman had me try the original "Opium" but at first I thought she had put a men's cologne on me, then when she said there was more of a loyal customer base for that one, which is why they got rid of the Belle d'Opium, I realized it was probably meant for more of an elderly women's scent. So I walked around all day smelling like an old lady and/or man. That being said, I'm SO happy I decided to buy the Belle d'Opium, and love wearing it every day! Very classy and regal.

Disappointed
I expected more from this product. Being Yves Saint Laurent I was sure it would have at least some staying power but it wears off like a cheap cologne. Don't waste your money on it!

Belle is exceptionally sweet, fruity
As a lover of ORIGINAL Opium pre 2009, Belle scent is different. Don't know why Yves St Laurent gave it a name associated with Opium. Belle is exceptionally sweet, fruity, similar to a 'knockoff' sold on corner almost like Paris scent. It does not have the spicy, exotic, in your face confidence scent like original Opium. The new Opium doesn't compare to the vintage/original opium. Doubt if I would buy Belle D'Opium.

Not what I expected. The original Opium is more intense and special ...this one I did not try it and I was disappointed.

It's not the best perfume but its good. The thing is that I always since 1980 I have being using the regular OPIUM. Its not bad its nice.

A Beautiful Scent
I first ran into this scent in Paris, a French woman walked into a dinner party I was attending and she just made my perfume wilt. This woman smelled heavenly, I was invited to her apartment the next day for tea and asked her to Please tell me the name of the scent she was wearing. I was not leaving Paris without it and got it at the airport. I get many compliments when I wear this and am thrilled to have found it on Amazon. Thank You Amazon.

Wait 2 years for tobacco to evaporate then wear
I was so disappointed when I got it in 2013. Even though I'd liked the core notes when I tried it in store, it left a smell like secondhand smoke on my skin and clothes. I kept it for the beautiful bottle.In 2015 I tried it again and oh my! The tobacco smells had all evaporated, leaving behind the most mysterious, decadent, addicting scent EVER! Truly a masterpiece scent that you can spend time with and dream into.
