My son loves it
My son is 3 and loves this game, one down side is that the characters don’t seem to have the actual voices of the movie characters which is a bit disappointing. Other than that it’s great

leapster
My 5 yr old son wasnt much for games. He's the type 2 get frustrated with things then give up. I guess bc he wants to play with his 13yr old sis stuff and can't. But now he wont put this leapster explorer down. He picked up on the controls and object of each game rather quickly. Things are spelled out for the player with repitition and voice commands. Idk he just loves it. He received a few games for the holidays and has gotten a couple since and enjoys them all. So much that we are looking into buying the battery charger kit, which I hear you can also plug the game into an ac outlet also. Otherwise look for battery sales. Ha

Favorite characters from Toy Story for grandson age 4
This was one of the first games we bought for his leap frog handheld game system. He was flying and it kept him occupied and also content for the week while visiting. He took it home with him along with 3 other games we bought for him. I got these at a buy one get one half off sale and money well spent! He was able to navigate it by himself and it held his attention for close to an hour before wanting to change to another game or activity. It initiates reading which is new to him and he seems to be liking the challenges.

A bit of a dissapointment
My son is 4 and he seems to have trouble with this game. He loves toy story and has seen the 2 movies that are on dvd more times than I can count but this game could not hold his interest. I think some of the levels are a little difficult for his age range. Also, the game is more Woody centric and my son loves Buzz light year. I think the game would be better if you could choose your character. Also, I did not see many of the educational parts showing up. I'm honestly not even sure what it is supposed to teach. The biggest problem right now with the explorer is the limited game selection. I sure hope they come out with more choices.

Fun...for a little while.
I ordered this game for my son's birthday, he just turned 3 but looooves Toy Story and also got a new Leapster Explorer for his birthday. I knew when I ordered it that he would necessarily "get" all the games because they are above his age and understanding, and I was right. He was really into it the first couple times we played but after you get through a couple levels it's just the same thing over and over, which didn't keep his attention. There are a few min-games you can earn in the missions which he really loves and can play all by himself, but i'm pretty sure that even if he was old enough to do the education tasks required to get through the game, he'd still be bored with how redundant it is.

For your Toy Story fan
We purchased this game for our 2 yr old boy who is a HUGE Toy Story fan. He loves this game. He is still learning how to use the D pad, but quickly became a whiz on all the other missions. Our 4 yr old daughter also loves this game, so it's a matter of who gets it first and who has to wait their turn. I'm disappointed that Tom Hanks did not lend his voice to the game, as well as some other Woody products, but my kids don't seem to realize this and love it nonetheless.

Fun and educational
To be honest I picked this off a registry list for my godson who is a little over four years old. He has had the LeapPad Tablet for sometime but did not have any of the expansion games. He was very excited to get the game and had it up and running within minutes with his dads help. While it is probably a little advanced for his current age, he was already able to do a great deal with the game and will certainly have room to grown into it. ... and who doesn't love TOY STORY!?!

Ok. Depends on the child
My child has difficulty playing this game, she is 3, but she plays most games ages 4-7 without trouble. She loses interest and gets mad with this game.

enjoyable but ....
my son prefers the mini games to the actually mission game, this seems a bit boring and there is only so many times you can guess the sounds. it is good for phonics and since my little boy (4) has started school and been looking at phonics more he has gained more interest in the game.

Don't get me wrong it's a lovely little game, ...
Don't get me wrong it's a lovely little game, however it's completely bypassed the fact it's on a tablet and asks you to play with a 'joypad' on the side, and my near 4 year old cannot get to grips with it, she has Various other games she plays with ease but I think they have over complicated the controls for no real reason.
