Although the mounting bracket (tray) was useless, the new drive is working well. I made a mistake at first and switched the drives (old for new) with the computer off. No, I finally figured out that you are supposed to switch the drives live, with the computer running. That worked like a charm.However, I now wish that I had purchased a larger drive (1500 instead of 900). Again, my ignorance played a role here as I did not know you could flawlessly switch to a larger drive simply by pulling the old one and inserting the new one. Would I have to switch all four of my RAID 5 drives? Not sure.
