Women's Drawstring Linen Crop Pant

I've had great experiences with the Amazon Essentials brand, and was expecting to love these drawstring linen crop pants. The style and cut are exactly as they appear in the product page photos; loose, easy, and comfy, with pockets in both front and back. The elastic-and-drawstring waistband ensures a good fit, with no drooping or gapping at the waist. They felt super light when I picked them up to put them on, which is ideal for our brutally hot summers here in Austin.While some reviewers have remarked they run a bit tight in the hip or thighs, I actually found they have an easy fit. I got these in size XL; I normally wear a size 14 (sometimes a 16) and have pretty heavy hips and thighs...but as you can see in the pics, they were sufficiently roomy in both areas. They definitely run longer on me than they appear in the product page pics; I'm 5'1", so they're nearly ankle-length on someone my height.However, my one (and only) issue with these pants is how thin/sheer the fabric is. I noticed light filtering through them when I went to slide them on, and that's when I realized they're not just light...they're paper-thin. I've shared a photo looking through these pants toward our bedroom window; you can clearly see the outline of the window, the edge of the bed, and the green trees beyond the window. I own quite a few pairs of linen pants, and have never seen linen fabric this thin. It was disappointing, because I love everything else about these pants and would have ordered additional pairs in different colors had the fabric been a little more substantial. Bear in mind this is the black pair; if the white and beige pants have the same fabric weight, I imagine they'd pretty much be see-through.As it is, I'll still be wearing these pants; they don't look as sheer on the body, providing you wear dark (non-patterned) underwear beneath them. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up after a wash; it could potentially tighten the weave if I toss them in the dryer, but I could end up with too tight of a fit if I don't air-dry them. I'll update this review if I notice any substantial changes in the fit or weave after laundering.So, if you're looking for a pair of light summer pants or a swimsuit coverup, these may be perfect. But just be aware -- particularly if you're planning to order a lighter-colored pair -- that the fabric is paper-thin, loosely woven, and potentially see-through. If Amazon Essentials ever makes these in a slightly weightier fabric, I'll give them another try...

Im giving this product 4 stars purely for their lacking sizing guide. I measured myself and then followed the size chart but they were WAY too big! Like clown pants huge, falling off my bottom huge. Not even close to fitting me. Other than that they were lovely and very well made. I ordered the olive green pair and the color was perfect.I like them so much i didnt even wait to return them to buy another pair in large and the large fits PERFECT!For size reference my measurements below fit a LARGE like a perfect glove!*Im 5'6.5 175lbs Prominent hourglass figure*Hips 43-44*Waist 33*Bust 39*Under Bust 32-34*I have a long torso and a higher up waist and higher up wide boney hips and a weirdly long lower belly button to pelvic region.*I have a large heart shaped bottom. So if you think youre around my shape/body type these capri/pants will be VERY FLATTERING on your body...perhaps order a size down if youre in between sizes...

These are comfortable and attractive. I bought these for an upcoming trip the Costa Rica but they’ll also be great for next summer. Will probably buy in other colors. I’m 5’4 and 120 pounds. An extra small fit well.

I'm 5'4 and 180 with curves. These pants were too long and a bit to much fabric around the middle. They just looked ill-fitted.

Wow! Very impressed with the quality of this pant! It is sewn well. Seams are substantial, and fabric feels the same as Eileen Fisher’s “Handkerchief Linen.” This is a lightweight summer linen. Anyone complaining in reviews about thin fabric was probably hoping for heavyweight linen. These pants probably demand a tunic-type top that will cover underwear, especially in the lighter shades. The first pair is such a marvelous bargain (price and quality), I’ve just now purchased most other colors! I am 5’2” 130 LBS. Medium is perfect, especially with washing and drying. I thought small would work, it’s gently too tight, and I want these wide-leg pants to breathe in the hottest climates! Please know I am a short fat 130 Lbs, but my fat is proportional. I probably would wear a medium in their tops, as well. I’m suggesting if you are “more” hips than bust, even though you’re around 130, you might size up. Same guidelines if you’re top heavy. Order and ENJOY!

This is perfect and exactly what i was looking for,i went for a tan color after reading a review how see thru white is. I am 5’2 112lbs and xsmall fits perfect. Threw it in the wash right when i got it cos of covid(ya know!) i try it on and it fits perfect,i dont have a big butt so for me this is a perfect fit,the lenght is perfect to my liking! I will buy again in diff color! Absolutely recommend! (Ps i shop at juniors section usually,hope this helps with sizing)

I like the drawstring closure, the linen frabric comfy and bendable and breathable. Have blue strip, just colored as I hoped. If you like skinny jeans, these are not for you, but look classy with a light weight cotton top.

I bought an XL first in the blue stripe and they were bigger than I thought they would be, so I bought the black in a Lg, but they are slightly more fitted than I like. There is a big difference in the large and X Large size. The good thing is, the pants don't shrink very much! I love the lightweight feel of the pants.

I ordered the 10-12 which fit perfectly. Lovely light and comfortable. Be sure to order slightly larger than you usually would for a loose fit.

Fabulous, comfortable ,cool, not an ounce of spandex/Lycra so I don’t heat up wearing these , and stripes going down are great .Looking for more colours

I was very surprised. Quite thin but not see through. Would definitely buy another pair when back in stock. Washed up well and did t shrink.

Reasonably nice for the money but very low rise.Returned and ordered the size up which seem to be much larger but do now come up to my waist.The leg length is now to long in me, just above the ankle bone while the size smaller was mid calf. I’m now deciding whether to take them up or return them and give up!
