does the job, very reliable -- but those "status lights" don't blink
I have been using this little hub with an Intel iMac for over 3 years now without any problems. I have all five ports on the back in use most of the time (scanner, hard drive, EyeTV, two printers), and I use the two top ports for camera and USB flash drive connections. There have never been any problems with the hub, and it is heavy enough/stable enough to stay in place on my desktop when I insert/remove cables. Because it is self-powered, there's no problem with powering non-self-powered USB devices. It is also quite small--about 3.5"w x 5.5"l x .5"h. The only caveat is this: those "status lights" don't blink to indicate activity, as the product description claims. They only light up to show that a device is connected to the port and powered on. For me, this doesn't matter, but others may care about this. Overall, very reliable and well-designed device.Edit Oct 2010: some have asked about the power adapter for travel. The adapter is 100-240V rated -- with a plug type adapter, it will work pretty much anywhere in the world.

Belkin 7 Port Hub
This is a good little 2.0 USB Hub. Works very well and serves it's purposes. However, for me, they only last a few years before they have to be replaced. But worth the cost of the Hub.

Works like a USB hub should
Works like a USB hub should work. The thing that makes this one stand out to me is the different options. (Options in a USB hub? Yep) It has the two ports on top that make for quick easy access. It also has the side hook-catch thingy that holds your cables on the desk. Mine has my iPhone cable and my headphone extender. It's a nice little feature that is a huge bonus if you plan to use it. It is also kind of a dark white color which matches my Apple products.Great buy!

Doesn't last. Customer service is horrible.
I picked this hub for the price, the look and the convenience of 7 hubs. The first one I had stopped working just after a year, so I replaced it. Now, 3 months shy of a year, the second hub intermittently stops working. Being under the one year warranty, I called for an exchange. The first call lasted about 30 minutes and I received and email telling me to call tech support. The second call lasted 47 minutes going back and forth between customer service and tech service. Tech service had to verify that the unit was defective - to do this they simply asked me if it was defective. Don't know why Customer service couldn't ask the same question.??? Back to customer service who told me I had to pay to ship the unit back! I was given 2 options: I needed to pay for the second unit for them to ship it to me prior to me sending the defective unit back OR send the defective unit back and they would then send a replacement without a charge to credit card.If Belkin can't handle a simple phone call, then how am I to trust that they would send a replacement and trust that they would refund my money.Everyone was very polite - scripted politeness. It doesn't matter how polite and how many apologies one gets from customer service if there is no efficiency placed into their policies. Poor policies, poor procedures, poor quality.

Sturdy, Well-Designed Hub
I've owned many USB hubs before, and this is by far the best. The unit itself is weighted unlike most hubs, and won't slip off the edge of your desk. The cable guide on one side is nice too - try feeding a USB cable (for your camera, phone, etc) through it. No more cables disappearing off your desk when they're not connected! There are 2 USB ports on the top of the unit, which is a nice touch even though I don't use many memory sticks.Construction quality is excellent: no unbearably bright LEDs blinking all the time, the plastic and rubber moldings fit well. Overall the product feels properly made, unlike the $10 cheap hubs that look like they will fall apart any second. My only complaint is the AC adapter used - it points in an awkward direction that may block nearby sockets if used on a power bar.

was nice until it up and died, we'll see how the replacement goes
So the design is pleasant, it has a solid feel to it. BUT one day it up and died. Tried it on multiple machines, multiple ports. It's dead. My other hubs are fine, thank you.I'm disappointed with the reliability. Am doing an RMA now, for the price of shipping ($5) since it's past the Amazon limit, so we'll see how that goes.

Neet Stackable Hubs
I've had one of these in service for 15 months and now a second one stacked on top of it for about three months. I like this hub.I have two of these chained together with all my keyboards/trackballs/external drives, optical drives, thumb drives and Lightning and micro-USB cables plugged into them.I have a Linux test machine and a laptop for school. When I'm working with the Linux box, I connect the first hub in the chain into it. When I'm doing school work, I plug into the laptop. The hubs connect seamlessly whether I'm typing, or doing a system install from a bootable optical connected to them. The ONLY issue I've had seems to relate to power output. I have an older slimline external DVD drive that has a split USB cable. The hub end splits out to two cables. One for data, and the other for power. If I plug both of those cables into the same hub, the optical will not work. If I plug one cable into each of the two hubs it will work for a while, then stop working unless I unplug it then replug it. It does the same thing with my mini-laptop. It never does that (works fine) if I plug into a desktop computer. These powered hubs should be putting out sufficient amperage at each port to properly power this optical, but they don't. I have a second external optical (Levino with a metal case) that only has one cable for power and communication and it works fine every time.I'm very happy with these hubs. They always when I plug the daisy chained setup into my mobile laptop.

Excellent USB Hub for MacBook
I have this hooked up to my 2008 MacBook. It's connected to a Seagate 1 TB drive, a Plextor 402, an Epson R800, and I leave my iPhone/iPod/iPad sync cable connected. Everything works perfectly. As noted by other reviewers it won't charge an iPad2, which is no big deal. The only con is that the power adapter blades are in the worse possible orientation with respect to every power strip I have. The hub itself takes up little space, looks nice, and has a cable sleeve that helps organize the wire spaghetti. And the price was right!

Unsatisfactory attachment
This product arrived with a USA two pin plug which does not fit any sockets in my home. However, when I returned it I received a prompt refund.
