Best brand of pocket knife available.
Boker Tree brand has long been the king of pocket knives. While my normal Boker is not stainless (but holds an edge extremely well), the Mississippi and North Carolina summer humidity precludes using a non-stainless pocket knife. The steel in the stainless Boker is almost as good as their "normal" blades. They have always known how to get just the right temper in the steel.Other than the fine steel, the stockman type has the three blades typically pictured. The blade action is smooth, and the blades stay open when used -- they do not inadvertantly close on fingers holding the knife. I have owned Boker knives for over 4 years, and would buy nothing else for a pocket knife. There have been questions on the dimensions of the knife. When the knife is closed, the length is 4.0". The large (clip) blade measures 2.9" from the knife handle (plus additional length on the hinge). The cutting edge is about 2.5" The sheepsfoot blade measures almost 2.1" from the handle, with a cutting edge of 1.75". (The sheepsfoot blade is the one with a straight cutting edge.) The spey blade (rounded cutting edge at tip) measures 1.9" from the handle, with a cutting edge of about 1.6" long (straight measurement to point).Boker is somewhat unclear about the "high carbon stainless" steel for the blades, but their steel table (https://www.boker.de/us/blade-steel.html) indicates that the steel should be a 420-440 (Rockwell 54-58). My experience is that the blades hold their edge quite well. The stainless is highly rust *resistant*. I live in the Carolina piedmont, so my knives get a lot of humidity and sweat. The rust is absolutely minimal on this knife. My carbon steel Boker (not this knife -- 30 yrs old) has blued blades (my cold bluing), and does tolerably well, but I don't carry the carbon steel as my default, as the stainless does so much better in the Carolina summers.

Just what I wanted
I bought this knife as an everyday carry and it is just what I wanted. I bought a Boker several years ago and it was a quality knife and I feel this onw will be also.

Pretty good, Handsome, Chinese Steel assembled in Germany, slight bend in tip of clip point
After a bit of research, I was able to determine that this knife is assembled in Germany (not sure where in Germany), but the steel (and perhaps other parts?) comes from China. It is a large, handsome knife, a darker brown than shown. The steel in this seems approximately as thick as that in a Case stockman or Boker’s Stag stockman with 440c steel (from Solingen, Germany - a top of the line stockman), but thinner than that in a Buck 301 stockman (Zytel scales). Like the Case stockman, this has mirror polish blades that look a lot “dressier” than the Buck 301. The steel seems to sharpen and hold an edge ok for everyday tasks like opening boxes or wood carving. It is a larger stockman knife, but I prefer that over a smaller knife (it looks like Boker does make a smaller version of this knife, 3.5 inches as opposed to the 4 inches with this knife). At this price point it isn’t bad, looks good (would be good in office setting), and you aren’t going to worry too much if it gets misplaced or the wife claims it for her use. I did take one star off as there is a very slight bend in the tip of the largest, clip point blade. (The knife is still very usable, but the bend is noticeable and I wonder about possible weakness at the bend, now or in the future.)

Too much slipjoint tension
If you like REALLY snappy slipjoints, this is the knife for you.If you're like me and don't want fingernails torn off to use a knife, look elsewhere.Fit and finish is real nice. Unfortunate that the knife is unusable to me because the blades are too tight to open without using some sort of tool.

Beautiful, sharp knife
Very nice knife from Boker - it comes sharp and looks great. It’s a bit larger than my standard Swiss Army Knife but a good size for most pockets.
