Review: Works As Advertised When Applied Properly - Although this is sold to the public, it really takes a professional arborist or someone who understands tree physiology, proper pruning, and tree wound care to use this product most effectively. I've used this product for over a decade now and have been very pleased with how it has protected some valuable trees from decay while they sealed some significant wounds. This is not to be confused with tree wound paint, which is actually bad for trees particularly if it's petroleum-based. SHAKE IT UP or STIR IT UP WELL: I've been using this product for large tree wounds for years to see if the claims it made were legit and I can personally say from my experience that I've had great success with it. The product is made of natural ingredients and resins and you have to remember to shake or stir it up well because the heavier particles will settle after sitting on a shelf for a while causing the lighter liquid to separate to the top. So if you forget to mix it up you'll use up a lot of the "runny" components and end up with a thick mess at the bottom of the container. Repeat: This product must be stirred or shaken well prior to use. It is best to apply this in two coats using either the included dobber wand attached to the jar lid or a small paintbrush. It is NOT a thick fluid but made from plant resins, so it will run if you try to apply too much all at once which brings me to my next point… MESSY: Wear protective rubber gloves because it can be a sticky mess and wear clothing that you don't mind getting stained if you should spill it or splash it onto your clothes.
