It was expensive, however, for once it's something that is worth every penny. The charger is 5W, the USB-C cable is nothing special and charges the iPad at the standard rate. Once the device is attached, it actually does charge the iPhone at around 4 x faster than normal.I could not recommend this product more highly. Absolutely perfect!

After upgrading from an iPad Pro 12.9” 1st gen to the 5th gen I ended up with two power supplies and two different cables to also charge my iPhone and AirPods as Apple had switched from lightning to USB C connectors.After searching I found this product which works great, as the new iPad power supply is 20watt and this adapter is a safe way of also connecting the older iPhone and AirPods for charging - it doesn’t work for data transfer but I didn’t need it.As per the picture the included lanyard keeps it attached to the USB C cable ready for use.

Had these just over a month, initially impressed with the look and design. On both converters the lightening connectors have snapped off in devices!! I’ve bought a lot of cables/converts over the years and this has never happened. Located on bedside table for overnight charging, so not heavily used or pulled around. Shockingly bad quality

The adapter gets extremely heated up and may pose threat to the iPhone battery itself . I am not sure if it’s because I have an apple fast charger at the other end , however it’s very disappointing as I am not going to take a chance on my iPhone battery for an adapter.P.S. : I don’t see any light on the adapter too when it’s charging . I maybe wrong completely as I though it had that functionality or I may have mistaken it with some other product , however that’s not a deal breaker . It does not I still confidence that it can charge Apple devices without harming them.

The product works but became worryingly hot after a while of charging. Is this normal?

Careful though as certain phone cases restrict access to charge port. Just push a little bit harder to ‘click’ into position.

Unlike some of the cheap adapters, this one really does adapt USB-C to lightning (iPad/iPhone) without losing any power or signal. It's well made and attractive. I pride myself on having every necessary adapter known to humankind in my bag. This one is now key.

I use this with an Apple 20W USB-C charger next to my bed so I can charge my laptop, iPad and iPhone all with a single cable (although obviously not at the same time)
