First time I entered email address as normal; received error "There was an error attempting to activate your subscription. Please try again". Second time I checked my Adobe account and saw it was all caps, so I used that; same error. But the activation page loaded with a select box instead of two text boxes, so I hit link account on that page, and it worked.
