Oster Convection Toaster Oven, 6 Slice, Brushed Stainless Steel (TSSTTVRB04)

After much searching and researching and reading of reviews, I decided on this countertop oven. It replaced an Oster countertop oven that I had used for so many years that I was embarrassed by its appearance. The oven still worked beautifully but it was beyond any rehabilitative cleanup. I seem to have wonderful luck with Oster so I was glad that my search led me back to Oster.I have had a chance to use this countertop oven for everything I would use it for: warming of burger buns, baking of potato wedges, baking of frozen fish (Costco halibut), and I even made a pizza and baked it in a pan measuring approximately 9 3/4" by 11 3/8". Everything turned out perfectly.I rarely use the countertop oven to toast. I personally think that calling this appliance a toaster oven is inaccurate. I use it in place of my large oven when it makes sense to do so. I would never try to toast something in my large oven. I would probably use a toaster if I wanted to toast bread although it looked like I would have had a nice toast on my burger buns if that had been what I wanted.The booklet that comes with this appliance covers all the important information in a very succinct manner. It takes only a few moments to read through it. I highly recommend reading the booklet.This oven gets very hot on top but the sides and bottom are less hot. It is nicely elevated off the countertop. Once it shuts off, I leave the door open a bit to let it cool. I am trying to be very disciplined about wiping it out with warm soapy water after each use. It cools very quickly and cleans up nicely. The glass door is quite large and clear so it is easy to see your food inside.So far I am very, very pleased that I chose this countertop oven and I am looking forward to many years of happy use. I have already had an opportunity to recommend it to a friend.

I read alot of reviews and really could not decide which convection oven to get. It came down to the price as I had a gift card and the weight of the oven. I will not be leaving it out all the time, so I need to be able to lift it onto the shelf in the pantry. So I decided on this one. I mainly wanted one that can cook a meal when it is too hot to use the oven. We do not use our oven alot but I want to have an option when I need to use it. It arrived on time and well packaged. I removed all the packaging and tape. I cleaned it as is recommended. It is light enough to carry back and forth from the pantry. I cooked broccoli stuffed chicken the same day I received it. I used the same pan I always do in the regular oven. I did turn down the temp and left the chicken in longer because of what I read in the reviews. It tasted so good!!! We could not tell the difference at all. The house did not get hot like it does with the regular oven. I am glad for this purchase as it will make the summer alot more enjoyable in the future. I rated it a four because this will not fit a pizza. It will fit a Totinos size pizza, but not a red baron size pizza. I wish I had room for the double rack oven because I would have bought it so I could cook the whole meal in it. Don't be scared to try this oven. I am happy with my purchase.

I bought this to help a family member who has problems using a large oven. The timer knob was hard to turn. Now after 3 1/2 years, the timer knob has stopped workong entirely. It got light use - less than once a week. Seems like it should have lasted longer.Also, I always cover little black spotted broiler pan with foil. It does not clean easily.

Very happy so far! It fits our dinner plates, which is why I really wanted the full-size. I can warm the plates before serving a meal and make the dinner presentation that much better. I can't figure out what all the 4 options are on the dial, and the manual doesn't say. There are two burners and a fan, so theoretically there's just 4 options - top only, bottom only, both, and both with fan. By the way, the photo currently on the Amazon listing isn't what we have - the top two dials are reversed on our model and the function dial has 5 options - broil, warm, toast, pizza, and convection (thus my confusion). In pizza mode it looks like both burners are on, but the top is higher than the bottom.Two slight downsides, though not quite enough to knock off a star - first, the grill that you place on the tray isn't the most stable thing ever - I feel like it could have been better constructed. Second, it's annoying that the instructions say not to allow the cord to touch the back when it's hot, but the cord is absurdly short. If your outlet isn't almost immediately behind the oven, it won't reach. So the cord has to touch. Basically, my solution is that whenever I'm using the oven at a high-ish heat for more than a couple minutes, I pull it out from the wall. Sad to lose the counter space, but better than burning through the cord.

Based on our experience with this oven so far, we like this toaster oven. Overall, we consider it a good value.Pros:Can fit a 12" pizza and cooks it well.Works well as a warmer, inside or setting something on top while cooking something else inside.Toasting capability is good. Very even on top, bottom affected a bit by rack but still good.Convection mode is fairly quiet and does heat faster than if using pizza mode.Rack and pan are easy to clean.Cons:Does not fit 6 pieces of sandwich bread to toast as claimed. Can fit 4, maybe 5 depending on size of slice.The only way I can see it fitting 6 pieces is if it is smaller slice.Knob selection is kind of difficult to see. The small indicator could be more visibly. I made a small mark on each with a permanent black marker and it is now easier to see and can't tell mark was added after.As indicated from other reviewers, oven does get very hot on the outside so have to be careful to touch handle only.A little hard to see food inside. Not sure if a light feature is available in any toaster ovens in this price range but would be nice to have.

I am not in a position to evaluate this product at this time. The reason: There was no instruction booklet enclosed. This has now been rectified, hence the delay. The product appears to be what I would have expected. This is all I can say at this time.

This was a replacement for a previous model of same brand and size. Works great! It seems to be a bit more powerful than predecessor in the way and time it takes to toast bread. We use it for baking too when we don't want to heat up the big oven - baked pies very evenly.

We bought this at the end of January and now the timer know has stopped working. The oven won’t shut off when done. Very disappointed since it’s a reputable brand

Good little machine for the price!

Never use my full size oven now. This thing is awesome!
