I've always used the 2-way test kits for my pool, yet decided to switch to a more comprehensive test after some research. This one is great! I based my purchase upon other reviews and am not disappointed. There are so many other variables to pool chemical balancing besides just pH and chlorine levels. This kit is ready to use and the instruction sheet is informative. I wish the instruction paper was laminated though.

First of all, this does not test cyanuric acid levels, which is basically like a sunscreen for chlorine levels. You'll want the larger version of the kit if that's what you'll be testing for. I wound up ordering the larger version as I used liquid chlorine and minimal chemicals.Otherwise, it's easy to use for pH, chlorine and combined chlorine as well as alkalinity and the instructions are simple to follow. My pool is performing perfectly this summer and my kids and I are very happy.

STOP THROWING $ AWAY ON UNNEEDED CHEMICALS!! Seriously folks, we know nothing about taking care of a pool or what it takes to chemically balance a pool .We just buy a few of everything that's on the shelf and dump what sounds applicable in and hope like he77 it's clear in the morning.Now with this test kit (and Google 😉) it makes the color matching so much easier. Counting drops is easier than distinguishing shades of pink.Not sorry at all about this purchase!! Only 4 stars because it could have added how (with what chemical) to remedy the result so we wouldn't need the Google part.

Used this for balancing the water chemistry in our hot tub. Very simple to use and directions are easy to understand. Only wish it also had water hardness testing.

I was accustom to using test strips for a hot tub, but the colors are often hard to define, and the measurements aren’t accurate. When I’m dealing with a hot tub that’s the ideal environment for micro-organisms to thrive, I want to make sure the water chemistry is spot on. That’s where this kit and the reagents come in handy to help dial everything in before and after chemical additions. Nobody likes hot tub folliculitis!

Number 1.. DONT use older kit ,the one with book. Aka diagnose and remedy book. With new kit. Volume of water and maybe chemical use to read are different?0004 ph to new 0014..Number 2. Wish Taylor had but a ..How to add book in new kit. Count drops ect and check book that isn't there. No you have to go and have pool supplies place to read and tell you what you need. And the reason buying this kit is why?
