My Favorite Cutting Board: Solid Yet Light & Relatively Thin Medium Sized Cutting Board
This is the perfect size for a cutting board for medium to small chopping tasks. It is light and relatively thin compared to others, yet well constructed, durable, and perfectly sized for all but the larger cutting tasks. I would not want any smaller, yet it is large enough to handle most chopping tasks except for the largest (like watermelon). The perfect alternate go to lightweight and accessible cutting board when you do not want to use up too much counter space or pull out the really big one. Their largest should be great also and much better than lugging out the heavier boards. It is nicely made and has a good finish and construction. I am very picky though and it appears that the very final finishing step was not completed on this board. The particular piece that I got had some super small short hair width minor loose micro strands of wood (NOT splinters) that most people would not notice that I easily removed with a 250 grit piece sand paper in just a few minutes, to make it perfect (steel wool or SOS would work very well for this also.also). I put on a little mineral oil to restore like new finish. It is in a different league over and above a two piece cutting board set with both small and medium boards called DDMVZ which sells for $9. That 2 board set is different as one of them is so small as to be worthless and the board smell of plywood glue and have a slightly splintered poorly finished thin bamboo top. I sent them back. Pay the extra seven $ and get something you will love and want and be able to keep such as this Totally Bamboo Greenlight Utility Board.I recommend against washing any wood board in the washing machine by the way. Regardless of manufacturers boasting and claims, lets face it, wood does not like constant contact with water and use common sense and just wash and dry it when you are done and apply mineral oil when it starts to become weathered after months of use.

Great product
Great product. Looks just as pictured. Smaller than I thought it would be - so please read the dimensions. Love that it is dishwasher safe. No smell! Would recommend!

Not Dishwasher Safe. Three failures, three strikes, your out!
I bought 2 boards at the same time. One fell apart after a few trips through the dishwasher. I contacted the company, and they sent me a replacement with an apology that this is not typical of their quality.I received the replacement, and then the other one started falling apart as well.I contacted them about another replacement, no response yet. Meanwhile, while waiting for an answer, the replacement they sent has started to fall apart as well.3 boards, 3 failures, other reviews here showing the same issues. I have concluded that failures due to being put in a dishwasher is typical of the quality.

Fibers or high maintenance
Before I bought this cutting board, I had read about bamboo board maintenance, i.e., oiling it, and I was completely okay with it as I really wanted to get this particular board. I am now regretting my purchase. Some people say that regular oiling of the board, say weekly, will prevent fibers from shedding, but I cannot say this is true based on my experience. The fibers appear whenever the bamboo is exposed to water, namely, when it is washed after use. I use the board daily, so the fibers appear daily. Likewise, a once or even twice weekly oiling will not prevent all the shedding. It cuts the shedding down by alot, but not completely. I suspect that some people who say their boards don't shed may not notice the fibers as they blend in to the board. I personally cannot see the fibers unless I put the board at certain angles to the light. For now, I am still using the board and pick off any fibers I feel after washing it. I suspect I am not getting them all. I was not expecting having to do this added work and do not like the idea that a fiber here and there may get into my food, so I am looking to replace this board.

Little smaller than I expected.
I got these because bamboo is gentile on knives, doesn't hold bacteria like plastic cutting boards, and the manufacture says you can run them through the dishwasher. They work well, but we'll see about how they hold up from the occasional dishwasher. 4 stars because they're a little smaller than expected. I know the measurements are listed, but the rounded shape gives a little less surface area than I expected. I'll update my review if there's any splitting or cracking issues. And if not, maybe even upgrade the star rating if I end up liking them and the size isn't an issue.

Only OK
I've gone through a lot of cutting boards in my life, and this one isn't the best. It's not the worst, either, but there are many better choices out there for around the same amount of money. If you're really serious about using only wood cutting boards, then probably get this one. It's affordable, made of a renewable resource and is comparable to other wood boards.Pros: it's dishwasher-safe, which is a must for me as I hate doing dishes. It's easy on knives.Cons: it requires more maintenance than I want to do, i.e. regular oilings (which is pure laziness on my part, I admit). It gets scratched very easily--after only a few weeks of use, it looked as old as a cutting board I'd had for years.
