I bought 4 of these because they are so sturdy, weather resistant, you can lock them, and have no sharp edges that cheap storage bins have that can cut you when carrying them. They will take a 1/4" diameter padlock shackle. IMPORTANT: Avoid purchasing long shackle locks because only a short shackle will work. (Long shackles don't fit through the red lid clamps.) I recommend for these the Master Lock Stainless Shackle with a 3/4" (19 mm ) shackle. (They are available on Amazon, in four packs for good value.) But if you want more than 2 bins "keyed alike" go to Home Depot to purchase a larger quantity with same key codes. Remember you will have to budget for 2 locks per bin. They are not cheap, but if you're going to subject the bins to moisture, camping or weather they are the way to go. They are weather proof, but not submersible, (like a pelican brand case for example.) Only downside with these bins are, they do stack on top of each other in place. But they are too slippery on top of each other to transport 3 or 4 high on a dolly. Regardless...these are the best in the market; and I like that they are not clear for privacy and security concerns.

My biggest concern was the thickness and sturdiness of the tote. After receiving the pair, my concerns melted away. These are very sturdy. They don't bend and flex like the cheap totes that you fill and tuck in a closet. These are built to be filled and used over and over again. I keep mine in the bed of my truck under the tonneau cover. Lock/latch is tight and secure and ready for a lock if needed. They work great as a bench to sit or stand on. Great product. I feel you get more than you pay for!

Used these for our annual camping trip. Love them!! Definitely a space saver.

I got the 24 gallon specifically for the lockability and the lid and container are sturdy enough that you can't just flex the plastic to reach in. The container is bigger for it though. And these do stack, but do not have grooves to lock them in place so don't stack these too high. You'll need a smaller kind of lock for these and I used TravelMore luggage locks to lock these which fit perfectly.

I had a different image in my mind, but that was my doing. Quality was acceptable. Would buy again for a specific use. Walls a little thinner at the top than I expected but OK.

The lids are built sturdy. However, the bottoms are awful. I used these for moving my daughter, to have weather proof containers to fit in the back of our truck. Everyone of them buckled, on the corners and edges, even with little weight in them. Additionally, they are very slippery and do not nest. As a result they do not travel well stacked. The lids on the lower bin, even though it was clasped shut, fell to the inside of the bin. Handles broke off 2 of the 6, with no torque on them, while moving. I’ve never had such a poor experience with Rubbermade. The first four pictures show the way that the bin buckles from no strength in design. The last two photos are what the corners and handle should look like. For such a study lid design, it’s astonishing that there is no structural integrity in the bin, at all. Bins all had less than 50 lbs of weight in them. This is less than a checked bag at an airport.

These are no inexpensive but they are not cheaply made either. Great for Camping and difficult to break. Flexible sides keep it from cracking - strong top and latches - I stand on them to load the top of the SUV.
